Easy 10-Minute Valentine’s Day Wall Art

Here’s an easy way to decorate for Valentine’s Day or it would even be a beautiful handmade wedding gift.

And the best part is that it only takes about 10 minutes to create!

How to Make 10-Minute Easy valentine’s Day Heart Art

Here are the instructions to make this easy heart art!

Heart Art Supplies

• Square canvas (either a 10 inch canvas or a 6 inch canvas, or both!)
• paper flowers – you can use or make paper flowers, but also small silk flowers would be pretty too. Get creative!
• 2 Squares of scrapbook paper (9.5 square for the 10 inch canvas 0r 5 inches square for the 6 inch canvas)
• Glue dots
• Print out of heart template (below)
• brads – for the canvas corners (optional)

Directions to Make Heart Art

• Cut out a square of scrapbook paper
• Print off the heart template and then staple it on top of one of the scrapbook paper squares
• Cut out the paper heart using the template
• Attach the other scrapbook paper to the canvas. You can Mod Podge it or if you have a Xyron sticker machine you can run the scrapbook paper through and then attach it to the canvas that way.
• Then attach the heart to the canvas with glue dots.
• Take the paper flowers and place them on the heart, attaching them with glue dots.
• For a final finishing touch you can add sticky dot embellishments to the corners of the canvas to look like decorative nails.
• Then hang them up or arrange them on a shelf and you have instant Valentine art.

How to Make a Tissue Paper Heart Tree Centerpiece

Here’s how to make this easy centerpiece idea!

Use Branches

To create the tree, use real or faux branches. I had a olive leaf garland that I found on sale, so I just cut that apart to make branches. You can cut some branches from a tree in your yard or use faux branches. Find a container to use. I used a simple white vase. Then put your branches in your vase.

Cut Tissue Paper Hearts

I used two different colors of PINK hearts for my tree. I used about 8 layers of tissue paper and cut out three different sizes of hearts out of both colors of the pink tissue paper. But you can use ANY color or multiple tissue paper colors for your project. White would also be beautiful!

Attach the Hearts to Your Branches

Once I had the hearts cut out, I used hot glue to attach the hearts to the branches. If you don’t want to use hot glue you can use glue dots or even a dot of regular white glue.

Distribute the Different Sized Hearts on the Tree

I used the largest size of hearts first. Once I had those attached, I worked my way through the hearts by ize, ending with the smallest size hearts. I love using tissue paper for this project because the tissue paper is so thin and the light comes through the tissue paper hearts which I think is so pretty!

Display Your Tissue Paper Heart Valentine Tree

This valentine tree is so fun as a centerpiece for a coffee table or dining room table, but it would also be so pretty on a kitchen counter or island or even on a entryway console or bedroom dresser. The possibilities are endless!

The best part about this craft if you probably already have all of the items needed to make these cute hearts! Just cardboard, yarn and a hot glue gun and you can make these festive yarn-wrapped hearts!

30-Minute Valentine’s Day Craft

The best part of this easy craft is it’s so fast! In 30 minutes you can have several heart-wrap cardboard hearts to use! And your kids will love making them too. I used a glue gun to keep the yarn on the curved edges of the hearts but you can use a glue stick too if your kids want to make some!

Yarn-Wrap Cardboard Hearts Can Be Used For Valentine’s Day Projects

Once you have a few hearts made, either use them by themselves on a table like I did. Or you can glue them onto ribbon to create a Valentine’s Garland. Sprinkle them throughout your home on shelves or add them to a wreath!

How to Make a Yarn-Wrap Heart Valentine’s Day Centerpiece

I used the yarn-wrapped cardboard hearts to create a sweet little Valentine’s Day centerpiece on our dining room table. This is how I created this easy centerpiece idea:

• I added some pretty yarn to the bottom of the jars.
• Then I added fairy lights.
• I put a heart from my Pebbles Avenues Line on little houses and put a house in each jar.
• Then I added a couple of the yarn-wrapped hearts to each jar.
• The last thing I did was tie some red and white ribbon on each jar and put them on cake stands in the middle of our table.
• I sprinkled more of the yarn-wrapped hearts around the jars on the table!

Yarn-Wrap Valentine’s Day Heart Tips

Here are a few tips I found while making these hearts.

Start Each Yarn-Wrap Heart

Add a dab of glue to the center of each heart and start wrapping the heart by wrapping the yarn tightly and closely together in one direction.

Turn Heart and Start Wrapping in Different Direction

Once one section is covered, turn the heart and put a dab of glue at both ends of the heart and start wrapping in that direction. The hot glue (or glue from glue stick) will hold the yarn in that new direction.

Keep Turning the Cardboard Heart Until Covered

Keep turning the heart and adding glue as you turn until the heart is covered with yarn.

Add More Yarn to Sparse Sections

After the heart is covered, see if there are sections that need a little more yarn so that none of the cardboard is showing through. Add more yarn to places that need more coverage.

Add Glue and Cut Yarn

Once the heart is covered, add a dab of glue under the yarn strand and cut it right next to the glue you added to neatly finish off each yarn-wrapped heart.

Free LOVE Valentine’s Day Glitter Gold Banner

It just doesn’t seem possible that Valentine’s Day is just a few weeks away. Seems like just a few days ago I was taking down my Christmas decor…well, to be fair that actually was just a few days ago. Anyway, I wanted to add a little bit of festive color to my decor this year and I have a cute coordinating freebie just for you!

Just Print and Cut Out

I have been loving the digital gold glitter (all the sparkle, none of the mess!) so I decided to glam up my Valentine’s printables. It’s really easy to put together your banner. First of course you’ll have to decide which parts to use. There are four letters to spell out “LOVE” plus two decorative accents that you can use in place of the “O” or on the ends of the banner to some charm. Then print out the pages (there are three all together) and cut out the pieces. I recommend printing on cardstock, and for the best and brightest color, have your banner printed at a copy store. Use ribbon or string to tie the banner together, or just use a little hot glue or even double sided tape to attach the string to the banner.

10-Minute Sharpie Valentines Tablecloth

We had such a fun time throwing our first annual GALantine’s Party  a couple of weeks ago! Ladies celebrating ladies. Have you heard of GAL-antines? It’s a party inspired by the show Parks & Rec where Leslie Knope throws a Galantine’s party for her lady friends — waffles and friendship. It’s ladies celebrating ladies.

We kept it very low-key with simple decorating and food. Here is one of the simple projects I created for the GALantine’s party: A 10-Minute Sharpie Tablecloth.

I knew I wanted to create a simple pattern for the tablecloth. I thought about what I wanted to draw. Hearts were a pattern I considered. I also thought a simple XOXO striped tablecloth would have been cute. You can draw ANYTHING you want on your tablecloth.

In the end I drew a simple scallop pattern with hearts. I think it turned out really cute. Simple but it echoed the heart theme of our GALantine’s party!

Christmas Garland to Valentine Wreath

Do you decorate for Vaentine’s Day? I love bringing happy red and pink color into our home to brighten up the winter blahs! Here’s an idea that costs almost nothing! Upcycle a Christmas garland into a pretty Valentine wreath!

Upcycle Old Holiday Decor

Over the past few years my holiday decor has evolved from traditional red and white to COLORFUL Christmas. So as I was thinking about Valentine decor ideas I turned to the bin of red and white decor that was waiting to be donated. I had three strands of red and white felt ball garlands that I really still love because of the texture but they didn’t fit into the COLORFUL Christmas theme that I use. So I thought “why not turn these felted ball garlands into a pretty heart wreath that I can use for years to come?”

DIY Valentine Ideas

I am sharing this felted ball heart wreath and my friends are also sharing DIY Valentine ideas that you can make! Scroll down to the bottom of the post and HOP over to see how to make these easy ideas!

How to Turn a Christmas garland into a Valentine Wreath

Now you can use pretty much any type of holiday garland for this idea. You will want to cut the garland pieces apart to see how they will look on your wreath form.

Gather Your Valentine Heart Wreath Supplies

Here are the supplies I used to create this heart Valentine wreath:

• Christmas Garland
• Wreath Form: I used a large heart wreath from Hobby Lobby.
• Ribbon or fabric to wrap around the wreath form. I cut up an old sheet and cut it into 4′ wide pieces.
• Ribbon: I used ribbon from Hobby Lobby
• Glue Gun and Sticks: This is my cordless Ryobi glue gun. I love it!!

How to Turn a Christmas Garland into a Valentine Wreath

Prepare Your Wreath Form

My wreath was covered in sparkly hearts so I had to remove those and then cut off the spokes that held the plastic hearts onto the form.

Wrap Wreath Form in Ribbon or Fabric

I used an old sheet and cut it up into 4-inch wide strips.

Cut Garland Items Apart

I used felted ball garlands. I cut the cord and then put all of the felted balls together. If you are using a different kind of garland, like a red ball garland, do the same thing.

Arrange Largest Items on Wreath Form

I like to arrange things before I commit to gluing them on. That way I can visualize how it will look before I glue. For my project I had garlands with three sizes of felt balls. One garland was all big red felt balls. One was medium red and white balls and the last garland was very small white and red balls. I arranged the big red balls around the wrath form, in a pattern. I think the eye just likes a pattern best and it looks uniform.

Glue Largest Items on Wreath

Once I had it all laid out visually, I glued the balls on the wreath form.

Arrange Smaller Items on Wreath Form

Then I took the medium red and white ball garland and laid the balls out in a pattern. By doing this you can see how it will look and also make sure the whole wreath form is covered evenly.

Glue Smaller Items on Wreath Form

Then I glued the medium size balls on the form.

Use Small Items to Fill in Holes

I used the smallest ball garland to fill in holes. If you are only using big garland items, you might need to purchase something to fill in the holes. Small balls are a good way to do that.

Add Ribbon

I used a black and white LOVE garland and an off white pom pom garland at the top of the wreath.

Hang Your Wreath Up!

I hung my wreath over our kitchen hood but it would also look great on a front door. However, if your door is exposed to the elements I would not hang a felted ball wreath on the front door. This wreath would look lovely almost anywhere in your home!

Over The Door Garland: Valentine’s Day Edition

The holiday season is always a magical time for decorating. And this year, the viral trend of over-the-door garlands caught my eye. I decided to give it a try, and I was delighted with the results. The combination of gingerbread ornaments, velvet ribbon, and battery-operated lights created a cozy and festive atmosphere perfect for Christmas. However, as the holiday season came to an end, I found myself reluctant to part with the charming over-the-door garland. That’s when I decided to transform it into a delightful Valentine’s Day edition!

Transitioning from Christmas to Winter Wonderland

After the Christmas celebrations concluded, I didn’t want to lose the enchanting ambiance created by the over-the-door garland and twinkling lights. Instead, I decided to keep the pine garland and lights in place, transitioning from a Christmas theme to a winter wonderland. The evergreen pine garland provided the perfect backdrop for a versatile and creative transformation.

Yarn-Wrapped Hearts: A DIY Valentine’s Day Touch

To infuse a Valentine’s Day spirit into the winter decor, I opted for a simple yet charming DIY project: yarn-wrapped hearts. Here’s how you can create these lovely additions to your over-the-door garland:

1. Cut out hearts using cardboard: Start by cutting heart shapes out of cardboard. You can make them as big or as small as you prefer, depending on your garland’s size.
2. Attach a string with hot glue: Flip the heart over and add a dab of hot glue to the backside. Attach a string to create a hanging loop.
3. Wrap the yarn around the middle: Apply hot glue to the middle of the heart and wrap the yarn around it. Ensure the yarn covers the entire heart, creating a cozy and textured appearance.
4. Secure the yarn on both sides: Repeat the process on both sides of the heart, adding hot glue along the edges to prevent the yarn from slipping down.
5. Finish with a hanging loop: Once the entire heart is covered in yarn, cut the string and tuck it behind the yarn. Cut a 10-inch piece of yarn, tie it in a knot, and glue it to the back of the heart, positioning the loop near the top for a straight and elegant hang.

Now, hang these handmade yarn-wrapped hearts on your over-the-door garland to infuse a sweet Valentine’s Day touch into your winter decor.

Pink Disco Balls for a Playful Vibe

To add a playful and festive element to the Valentine’s Day edition of the over-the-door garland, I incorporated pink disco balls. Here’s a simple way to do it:

1. Cut the disco ball garland apart: If you have a disco ball garland, cut it into individual pieces.
2. Add an ornament hook: Attach an ornament hook to each pink disco ball piece.
3. Hang up the pink disco balls: Integrate these disco ball ornaments into your over-the-door garland by simply hanging them up. The reflective surfaces of the disco balls will catch the light from the twinkling lights, creating a delightful and eye-catching display.

Enjoying the Twinkle Lights All Winter Long

With the addition of yarn-wrapped hearts and pink disco balls, my over-the-door garland seamlessly transitioned from Christmas to Valentine’s Day, maintaining its charm throughout the winter season. The twinkling lights, now accompanied by these handmade and festive elements, continue to bring warmth and joy to my home.

Happy Saturday. friends! How was your week? Can you believe it’s February?? It felt like January lasted forever! I love February and covering my home in pink and red for Valentine’s Day! This week I am excited to share some easy and inexpensive ways to bring Valentine cheer to YOUR home!!

This week I shared a Valentine mantel with some dollar store elements!

Dollar Store Valentine’s Day Wreath and Mantel

I love Dollar Tree’s seasonal decor area. They have great wreath forms. I took their heart wreath form, covered it with adorable black and white heart fabric to make a festive focal point for our Valentine’s Day Mantel. The grapevine hearts are also from Dollar Tree. I painted the hearts red, pink and white, then tied them with my favorite XOXO ribbon for an easy and inexpensive Valentine’s Day mantel!
