This holiday season, I’m thrilled to invite you into my home for a whimsical holiday home tour with DIY Christmas and gingerbread ideas! This year, I’ve gone all-in on a gingerbread theme to transform our space into a cozy and festive Christmas dream. Let’s dive into all the gingerbread-inspired ideas!

A Gingerbread Kitchen Wonderland

In our kitchen, the gingerbread theme comes to life with warm and cozy gingerbread touches. I started by transforming galvanized houses into a charming gingerbread village. These hand-painted houses are perched on our kitchen shelves surrounded by a blanket of faux snow and accented with twinkle lights, creating a magical glow.

Above the stove, I hung a cheerful Gingerbread Cookies sign that sets the tone for the space. On the kitchen hood, I added a show-stopping DIY gingerbread wreath. The wreath features a large gingerbread man, which I crafted by painting a gingerbread-shaped cutting board, and I adorned it with painted wood snowflakes and battery-operated lights for a cozy and festive touch.

A Festive Christmas Dish Cabinet

In the kitchen, I repurposed a vintage gun cabinet, adding modern tile for a fresh, updated look, and installed it as a stylish storage solution for cups, glasses, and dishes.

For the holiday season, I transformed it into a festive Christmas dish cabinet. I brought out my collection of Santa mugs, Christmas plates, and red bakeware, creating a cheerful display. To add an extra festive touch, I lined the shelves with holiday McKenzie-Childs tartan napkins, making the cabinet a charming focal point in the kitchen.

A Plaid Christmas Kitchen Nook

Adjacent to the kitchen, our dining nook is dressed in cozy plaid. A tiered tray filled with festive treats and ornaments sits atop a tartan throw, creating a warm and inviting holiday scene.

Across from the nook is our little reading corner, where I added some mini Christmas trees, a festive pillow, and another tartan throw. This cozy spot is perfect for sipping hot cocoa and enjoying a holiday book.

Gingerbread-Themed Christmas Tree

The centerpiece of our holiday decor is our main Christmas tree, decked out in all things gingerbread. I crafted DIY gingerbread house ornaments and added velvet bows in warm, rich tones.

Gingerbread-shaped ornaments complete the look, turning our tree into a sweet and whimsical focal point. It’s a gingerbread lover’s dream come true!

Colorful Gingerbread Village Mantel

The mantel is another area where the gingerbread theme shines. I painted colorful gingerbread houses that line the mantel, adding a playful and cheerful touch.

A Norfolk pine garland draped across the mantel is adorned with velvet bows and faux candle lights that mimic the flicker of real flames. The combination of greenery, soft lights, and bright gingerbread details makes this space truly magical.

Gingerbread-Themed Dining Room Glow

In the dining room, I created a stunning DIY gingerbread village centerpiece. Painted and decorated gingerbread houses sit on cake plates of varying heights, surrounded by paper trees and twinkle lights.

A lighted branch centerpiece in the middle adds height and an ethereal glow. Seeing the dining room illuminated in the evening is a highlight of the season, making it the perfect spot for festive dinners with family and friends.

And on the buffet, behind the table, I added some sweet Christmas decor. I love this little mirror.

Sparkling Disco Ball Tree

One of my favorite additions this year is our DIY disco ball tree. Adorned with shimmering disco balls, it’s a modern, playful twist on holiday decor. To tie the look together, I added a pinkish mauve ribbon that complements the color of the rug and brings a cozy warmth to the sparkling display.

When the sunlight streams through the windows, it dances off the disco balls, creating a magical, light-filled moment that never fails to make me smile. It’s a glamorous yet cozy addition that perfectly complements the rest of our holiday theme.

Spiraling Staircase Showstopper

Our spiral staircase is dressed to impress this year with festive garland. I added velvet ribbons, gilded branches, and wooden ornaments to create a cohesive and elegant look. This eye-catching display wows visitors the moment they step into our home and ties together the gingerbread theme with a touch of classic holiday charm.

DIY Forsythia Spring Porch!

Spring has officially sprung, and I’m here to help you make your front porch the star of the neighborhood—all in under 30 minutes! I’ve partnered with Hobby Lobby to show you how to create a fresh, welcoming spring porch using their beautiful and budget-friendly forsythia faux florals. Your front door is the first thing people see, so let’s make a beautiful first impression that practically screams spring (in the friendliest way, of course)!

The Star of the Show: Forsythia Garlands

Let me introduce you to the true MVP of spring decorating: forsythia garlands. These sunny yellow beauties are not only affordable but also incredibly versatile. I spotted them at Hobby Lobby and immediately knew they had porch magic written all over them. Drape them over your front door and BAM! Instant spring color that makes your home feel happy and refreshed. Bonus? You can also use them on your mantel, entryway, staircase, or literally anywhere that needs a burst of cheer.

Creating a Spring Forsythia Door That Wows

Your front door is the ultimate first impression. Whether it’s your neighbors dropping by or delivery drivers secretly judging your seasonal decor game, your door sets the tone. With these forsythia garlands, you get maximum impact with minimal effort. Just drape, fluff, and let the sunshine vibes roll in. Trust me, your porch will look like you hired a professional stylist, but only you (and I) will know the secret.

Matching Forsythia Wreath Tutorial: Easy and Stunning

To take the porch up a notch, I made a matching forsythia wreath, and friends, it’s easier than baking a boxed cake mix. Here’s what you’ll need from Hobby Lobby (and yes, their faux florals, Spring Department and ribbon are ON SALE right now, so it’s basically a crafting trifecta).

Forsythia Wreath Supplies:

• 1 grapevine wreath form
• 1 forsythia garland
• 1 forsythia branch
• Hot glue + glue gun
• Ribbon (my FAVORITE part)

Pro tip: Hobby Lobby’s ribbon is next-level fabulous. Find it in the fabric section AND in the wedding department—yes, ribbon is so good it needs two departments.

How to Make Your Forsythia Wreath Like a Pro

Ready for the easiest wreath tutorial ever? Let’s go.

1. Cut the Loops: Start by snipping off the round loops from your forsythia garland. There is.a loop on each end which is great for hanging the garlands over your door, but you don’t need them to make this wreath.
2. Wrap and Glue: Wrap the garland around your grapevine wreath, securing it with hot glue every so often. It doesn’t have to be perfect—the branches are forgiving, and the goal is to create a natural, full look.
3. Branch It Out: Take your forsythia sprig and gently pull it apart into 5-6 individual branches. Then, thread those little guys evenly into the wreath for extra dimension and fullness. Have the sprigs face the same way around the wreath for a more uniform appearance. A dab of hot glue will keep them in place (and make sure they don’t fly off during porch parties or windy days).
4. Bow Time: Finally, add your ribbon bow at the bottom for that chef’s kiss finishing touch. You’ll want to step back and admire it for a good five minutes because it’s just that pretty.

Bonus Project: Teacup Planter That’s Almost Too Cute

Now, let’s talk about the adorable teapot planter that’s giving major spring vibes. I found this teacup in Hobby Lobby’s SPRING section (which is also on sale right now, bless). Here’s how to create this cuteness:

1. Add green floral foam to the bottom of the teacup.
2. Cover the foam with moss for a natural look.
3. Pop in some sprigs of forsythia and a few other faux florals of your choice.
4. Hot glue a matching bow to the front because, let’s be honest, everything looks better with a bow.

This little planter is the cherry on top of your spring porch setup. It’s cheerful, whimsical, and the best part? It’s maintenance-free. Faux florals = always looking fresh, zero watering required.

Faux vs. Fresh: The Low-Maintenance Win

Sure, you could use fresh flowers—but let’s be real. Faux florals have come a long way and they’re looking more realistic than ever. Plus, they don’t wilt, they don’t need watering, and they won’t judge you if you forget about them for three weeks. These Hobby Lobby florals are so gorgeous, you’ll find yourself questioning whether they’re even faux.

To tie everything together, I found the happiest yellow doormat and a Floral Embroidery Pillow in the Spring Department. They instantly pulled the whole look together and added a playful pop of color. You’ll feel like you’ve upgraded to porch influencer status in no time.

With only a few days left until the official arrival of spring, anticipation for warmer weather and blossoming landscapes is palpable. As we bid farewell to winter’s chill, it’s time to welcome the vibrant hues and fresh scents of the new season. Personally, I couldn’t wait to infuse my home with the spirit of spring. Inspired by the beauty of nature and the fluttering of butterflies, I embarked on a crafting adventure to create a sweet Spring Moss and Butterfly Wreath. Envisioning this wreath adorning my kitchen hood, I sought to capture the essence of spring with a touch of rustic charm and whimsy. Join me as I take you through the simple steps to craft your own delightful spring wreath

• Grapevine wreath
• Butterflies in two different sizes
• Moss
• Wide plaid ribbon
• Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Directions to Make a Spring Moss and Butterfly Wreath:

Paint the Butterflies:

Begin by painting the butterflies to add a pop of flight and texture to your wreath. Apply a heavy coat of puffy paint to create a 3D effect. Once dry, layer two coats of matte white paint, sprinkling a touch of fine glitter while the paint is still wet for a subtle sparkle.

Prepare the Wreath Base:

Take the grapevine wreath and carefully tuck moss into various sections, ensuring even coverage and a natural appearance. Use hot glue to secure the moss in place, lifting sections of the wreath and applying glue as needed.

Attach the Butterflies:

With the moss in place, it’s time to add the butterflies. The butterflies typically come attached to wire, so simply apply hot glue to the wire ends and position them along the wreath, spacing them unevenly for a more organic look. Leave a space in the center where the bow will be placed.

Create the Bow:

Crafting a beautiful bow is essential for adding a charming finishing touch to your wreath.

• Cut a 4-foot section of ribbon, leaving about 12 inches as a tail.
• Make four loops of equal size and arrange them on your work surface with two loops on each side.
• Secure the loop ends with hot glue at the center, ensuring they remain intact when the ribbon is tied.
• Take another 12-inch length of ribbon and tie it tightly around the center of the bow, knotting it at the back and tucking the ends underneath.
• Fluff up the bow loops and attach it to the bottom of the wreath using hot glue. T
• rim the ribbon ends into an inverted V shape for a polished look.

As we eagerly await the arrival of spring, there’s no better way to usher in the season than with a charming DIY wreath. Christmas Garland to Valentine Wreath

Do you decorate for Vaentine’s Day? I love bringing happy red and pink color into our home to brighten up the winter blahs! Here’s an idea that costs almost nothing! Upcycle a Christmas garland into a pretty Valentine wreath!

Upcycle Old Holiday Decor

Over the past few years my holiday decor has evolved from traditional red and white to COLORFUL Christmas. So as I was thinking about Valentine decor ideas I turned to the bin of red and white decor that was waiting to be donated. I had three strands of red and white felt ball garlands that I really still love because of the texture but they didn’t fit into the COLORFUL Christmas theme that I use. So I thought “why not turn these felted ball garlands into a pretty heart wreath that I can use for years to come?”

I am sharing this felted ball heart wreath and my friends are also sharing DIY Valentine ideas that you can make! Scroll down to the bottom of the post and HOP over to see how to make these easy ideas!

How to Turn a Christmas garland into a Valentine Wreath

Now you can use pretty much any type of holiday garland for this idea. You will want to cut the garland pieces apart to see how they will look on your wreath form.

Gather Your Valentine Heart Wreath Supplies

Here are the supplies I used to create this heart Valentine wreath:

• Christmas Garland
• Wreath Form: I used a large heart wreath from Hobby Lobby.
• Ribbon or fabric to wrap around the wreath form. I cut up an old sheet and cut it into 4′ wide pieces.
• Ribbon: I used ribbon from Hobby Lobby
• Glue Gun and Sticks: This is my cordless Ryobi glue gun. I love it!!

How to Turn a Christmas Garland into a Valentine Wreath

Prepare Your Wreath Form

My wreath was covered in sparkly hearts so I had to remove those and then cut off the spokes that held the plastic hearts onto the form.

Wrap Wreath Form in Ribbon or Fabric

I used an old sheet and cut it up into 4-inch wide strips.

Cut Garland Items Apart

I used felted ball garlands. I cut the cord and then put all of the felted balls together. If you are using a different kind of garland, like a red ball garland, do the same thing.

Arrange Largest Items on Wreath Form

I like to arrange things before I commit to gluing them on. That way I can visualize how it will look before I glue. For my project I had garlands with three sizes of felt balls. One garland was all big red felt balls. One was medium red and white balls and the last garland was very small white and red balls. I arranged the big red balls around the wrath form, in a pattern. I think the eye just likes a pattern best and it looks uniform.

Glue Largest Items on Wreath

Once I had it all laid out visually, I glued the balls on the wreath form.

Arrange Smaller Items on Wreath Form

Then I took the medium red and white ball garland and laid the balls out in a pattern. By doing this you can see how it will look and also make sure the whole wreath form is covered evenly.

Glue Smaller Items on Wreath Form

Then I glued the medium size balls on the form.

Use Small Items to Fill in Holes

I used the smallest ball garland to fill in holes. If you are only using big garland items, you might need to purchase something to fill in the holes. Small balls are a good way to do that.

Add Ribbon

I used a black and white LOVE garland and an off white pom pom garland at the top of the wreath.

Hang Your Wreath Up!

I hung my wreath over our kitchen hood but it would also look great on a front door. However, if your door is exposed to the elements I would not hang a felted ball wreath on the front door. This wreath would look lovely almost anywhere in your home!

DIY Gingerbread Christmas Wreath

I love decorating our home for Christmas. Each year, I choose a different Christmas theme, and this year I picked a whimsical gingerbread theme! So when Hobby Lobby contacted me about coming up with a DIY Christmas wreath, I was so excited to create something special. I headed to my local Hobby Lobby, where I had the BEST time exploring all the Christmas aisles. And guess what? Right now, all of Hobby Lobby’s Christmas Department is 50% off!

Let me show you how I created this adorable Gingerbread Christmas Wreath that’s perfect for adding a little sweetness to your holiday decor.

Gingerbread Christmas Wreath Supplies

I found everything for this wreath at Hobby Lobby, making it so convenient to bring my gingerbread vision to life! Here’s what you’ll need and where to find each item your Hobby Lobby store:

25-Inch Norfolk Pine Wreath
I picked up the most realistic evergreen wreath in the Christmas section. The lush, bouncy tips are perfect for creating a festive base.

Gingerbread-Person-Shaped Cutting Board
This adorable cutting board caught my eye in the kitchen Christmas decor aisle. It’s the perfect whimsical centerpiece for this wreath.

Krylon Decor Selects Satin Brown Boots Spray Paint
You’ll find a wide variety of spray paints, including the perfect gingerbread-inspired shade, in the craft supplies section.

Unfinished Wood Snowflakes
These wood ornaments came from the Christmas crafts aisle. They’re easy to customize and make adorable gingerbread “cookies.”

Ribbon Bundle
I fell in love with the ribbon bundles in the ribbon and fabric section. The colors and textures—like rickrack and cording—are perfect for a gingerbread theme.

Small Pearl Buttons
These tiny pearl buttons were in the sewing section and add the sweetest detail to the gingerbread centerpiece.

Other Supplies
Don’t forget your essentials, like a glue gun, glue sticks (or E6000 glue for a stronger hold), and evergreen pipe cleaners, all of which you can also find in the craft supplies section.

Supplies You’ll Need to Make a Tis Gingerbread Wreath

Here’s everything I used for this project:

Main Supplies:

• 25-inch Norfolk pine wreath
• Gingerbread-person-shaped cutting board
• Krylon spray paint
• One pack of unfinished wood snowflakes
• Ribbon bundle
• Small pearl buttons

Other Supplies:

• Glue gun and glue sticks (or E6000 glue)
• Evergreen pipe cleaners (optional) If you don’t want to use the pipe cleaners to tie the cutting board onto the wreath, you can also hot glue or use E6000 to glue the cutting board to the wreath.

Preparing the Gingerbread Cookies

The first step in creating this wreath is transforming the wood snowflakes into adorable gingerbread cookies. I used two coats of spray paint on one side of the ornaments, let them dry, and then flipped them over to paint the backs.

Once the snowflakes were completely dry, I used paint pens to draw fun snowflake embellishments.

I created two different designs and painted three snowflakes in each pattern. They turned out so cute—like little cookies fresh out of the oven!

Attaching the Gingerbread Centerpiece

To attach the gingerbread-person cutting board, I first wrapped the twinkle lights around the wreath, making sure they were evenly distributed. I secured the battery pack to the back of the wreath using an evergreen pipe cleaner. It’s easy to tuck the battery pack out of sight this way.

Then, I attached the cutting board to the center of the wreath. I used pipe cleaners on the back of the arms and legs, securing them tightly to the wreath’s wire frame. If you prefer a stronger hold, you can use E6000 glue, but keep in mind it takes 24 hours to set completely.

Adding Sweet Details

What’s a gingerbread person without buttons? I used wire cutters to remove the backs of some pearl buttons, then glued them down the center of the cutting board. These little details make the wreath feel extra special. Next, I hot-glued the snowflake “cookies” onto the evergreen wreath. I arranged them evenly around the greenery for a balanced look.

Finishing Touches with Ribbon

The final step was adding the ribbons. From the ribbon bundle, I chose about 12 pieces in different colors and textures. I tied each piece into a small knot and attached them to the bottom of the wreath for a playful, whimsical effect.

With the ribbons in place, I flipped the switch on the twinkle lights and hung the wreath in our gingerbread-themed kitchen. It adds the perfect amount of holiday cheer!

DIY Tissue Paper Holiday Trees

I love a creating a colorful mantel for the holidays! I’ve been obsessed with Hobby Lobby’s colorful trees for a few years. I decided to make some coordinating colorful tissue paper trees for our mantel.

Hobby Lobby Christmas Shop

I love seeing all of the Christmas and Holiday items at Hobby Lobby! This year there are so many beautiful items! There are gorgeous serving pieces, dishes, trees, ornaments, signs and anything you need to create a memorable holiday home! And everything is on sale too! I fell in love with this Christmas Tree sign. It’s the centerpiece of our holiday mantel and it looks so happy surrounded by the colorful bottle brush trees and my new tissue paper trees! I painted the trees colors that match the tissue papers I used.

How to make Tissue Paper Holiday Trees

These trees are so easy to make! You only need a few supplies and you can find them all at Hobby Lobby!

DIY tissue Paper Holiday Trees Supplies

• Holiday Tree Sign
• Tissue Paper (you can use any color you want! Hobby Lobby has a wonderful assortment of colors).
• Wood Dowels (these came in a package of 20)
• Wood Shapes (these shapes are in the same section as the dowels).
• Hot Glue Gun
• Glue Dots (optional)
• Stapler
• Templates (I created two sizes you can download for FREE).

DIY Tissue Paper Holiday Tree Directions

Lay the template on top of the tissue paper with the straight edge at the fold!

Trace the template with a pencil

Cut out the traced design

Do this 2 or 4 times, depending on how fluffy you want your trees to be!

Divide the trees in half. Open up the trees you just cut out and staple the center of the trees so you have two sections of trees.

Lay the first section of trees on your work surface, with the fold facing up. Hot glue a line of glue from the center of the trees down to the tree trunk.

Lay the wood dowel on top of the glue.

Hot glue a line of glue starting at the top of the tree, over the dowel to the bottom of the tree. Lay the second set of trees on top of the first section with the fold facing inwards. You want the folds next to the dowel so that the trees flare outward.

Hot glue the dowel with the tree on it onto the circle or square piece. I used a drill to make an indentation to hold the glue. You can do this or just use glue and hold it as it cools and it will stand up.

I used glue dots to close the gaps between the first set of trees and the second set. You can also use hot glue to do this. You might also need to glue the tops of the trees so they don’t gap.

How to Make Different Heights of Trees

I cut the dowels in half and used the smaller template to make smaller trees. But you can cut the dowels at different heights if you want all of the trees to be different heights

Click on the link below and save the image to your computer. Then print off the templates. Cut out the shapes and you have templates that you can use to make the tissue paper trees!

Cozy Dollar Store Christmas Centerpiece

I recently stumbled upon a stunning holiday centerpiece on the Terrain website, but at over $150, I knew I could recreate a similar version on a budget. Using affordable items from Dollar Tree, including bottle brush trees and a simple wreath form, I made my own cozy centerpiece for less than $20! This DIY holiday decoration is not only easy to make but also brings a warm, natural vibe to any room. Here’s how I did it, step-by-step.

Terrain Tree Centerpiece

This is the Terrain centerpiece that is being sold for $130. We can make this inspired version for a fraction of that price, using a Dollar Tree wreath for a base and Dollar Tree bottle brush trees! I used a mixture of colored trees including pink ones for my centerpiece, but you can use any color trees that go with YOUR decor!

Supplies Needed for the Cozy Christmas Centerpiece

To achieve a lush and textured look, I gathered a variety of bottle brush trees from Dollar Tree in different sizes, creating a forested effect around the wreath. I used six large bottle brush trees, eight medium trees, and two packages of small bottle brush trees to fill out the display. The Dollar Tree also had wreath forms, which worked perfectly as a base for the project. To add a warm, magical glow, I picked up a set of battery-operated micro lights with multiple light settings and a timer function. Finally, I placed a large candle at the center to make this centerpiece feel complete.

Additional Supplies List:

• Wreath form (from Dollar Tree)
• Moss sheets with a sticky backing
• Hot glue gun
• Scissors
• A large candle

The sticky-backed moss sheets are a game-changer! They create a natural woodland look and make it much easier to work with moss without the mess.

Preparing the Moss Base

The first step was to wrap the wreath form in moss. The moss sheets I used came in packs of two, and each sheet has a sticky backing. I cut each sheet in half and simply peeled off the adhesive backing. Then, I placed the wreath form in the center of each piece and wrapped the edges firmly around it. This method is much less messy than working with loose moss, and it also makes the centerpiece easier to store for future holiday seasons.

Adding the Trees

After covering the wreath with moss, it was time to add the bottle brush trees. I started by cutting off the wooden stands from the bottom of the trees. This made it easier to secure them directly onto the wreath.

Step 1: Place the Large Trees

I began with the six large bottle brush trees, spacing them evenly around the wreath. This creates a strong base and structure for the centerpiece.

Step 2: Add the Medium Trees

Next, I added the eight medium trees, filling in the spaces between the larger ones. This layering gives the centerpiece a lush, full look.

Step 3: Finish with Small Trees

Finally, I used the smaller bottle brush trees to fill in any remaining gaps, creating a mini forest effect around the wreath. I secured each small tree with a dab of hot glue to keep everything firmly in place.

Wrapping with String Lights

The battery-operated micro lights were the perfect finishing touch for this piece. These lights came with six different settings, including options like slow glow, twinkling, and a timer function. I love that they have a remote for easy control, so I can set the lights to come on each evening automatically.

To add the lights, I wrapped the string around the base of the wreath and intertwined it around some of the larger trees for a subtle glow. This step really brought the centerpiece to life, adding warmth and sparkle that’s just magical for the holiday season.

Finishing Touch: Adding a Candle

With the wreath wrapped in lights and trees in place, I finished the centerpiece by placing a large candle in the middle. This candle adds a soft, warm glow to the display and completes the cozy, natural aesthetic.

Pottery Barn-Inspired Halloween Bat Wreath

Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year to decorate. Each October, I dive into a new theme to keep things fresh, spooky, and fun. Whether it’s playful pumpkins, eerie skulls, or haunted houses, there’s something exciting about choosing a theme and running with it. This year, I decided to go with a bat theme. You may have already seen my posts on how to turn Dollar Tree bats into Pottery Barn-inspired versions, as well as my Halloween Bat mantel that’s full of flying creatures. Now, I’m excited to share another bat-themed project: a Pottery Barn-inspired Halloween Bat Wreath. The original costs over $75, but you can create this dupe for just $20 with simple supplies! Here’s the Pottery Barn version:

Supplies You’ll Need

One of the best things about DIY projects is how affordable they can be compared to high-end decor. For this bat wreath, we’ll use a few basic items, some of which you might already have. The main supplies are:

• Twig wreath
• Black macrame cord (the same cord I used to turn Dollar Tree bats into the Pottery Barn-inspired versions)
• PVC bats (the kit comes with 100 bats in three different sizes)
• Micro lights with a timer

I’ll add links to these supplies below so you can grab everything easily. Now, let’s dive into how to make this fun and spooky wreath!

Step 1: Prep the Macrame Cord

To begin, take your black macrame cord and cut 10-12 pieces, each about 10 inches long. These will be the “hanging” strings from which our bats will dangle, giving the wreath a dynamic, 3D look. You can adjust the lengths if you want some bats to hang lower or higher, but for now, aim for about 10 inches for each piece.

Once you’ve cut your strings, make a simple knot at one end of each piece. This knot will help secure the string to the wreath. Don’t worry if the knot isn’t perfect, as we’ll hide it later!

Step 2: Attach the Macrame Strings to the Wreath

Now that your macrame strings are prepped, it’s time to attach them to the wreath. Start by placing a small dab of hot glue on the knot of one of the macrame strings. Then, tuck the knot under the branches of the twig wreath so it isn’t visible. Press the knot into place with the hot glue and let it cool. This will keep the string securely attached to the wreath.

Repeat this process for each of the macrame strings, evenly spacing them around the wreath. Once all the strings are in place, you can trim the ends to your desired lengths. Don’t worry if some are longer than others—it adds to the whimsical look!

Step 3: Create the Bat Sandwiches

This is where the magic really happens! Take two matching bats from your PVC bat kit. These bats come in different sizes, so start with the larger ones first. Apply a small dab of hot glue to the center of one bat, and place the end of one of your macrame strings over the glue dab. Then, take the matching bat and sandwich the string between the two bats, pressing them together. This will hide the end of the string and create a clean, polished look.

To secure the bats even more, add a couple of dots of hot glue to the tips of the wings and press the wings together. This will keep the bats looking uniform and prevent them from separating over time. Repeat this step with all the macrame strings, working your way from the larger bats at the bottom of the wreath to the smaller ones toward the top.

Step 4: Add the Micro Lights

Once your bats are attached and hanging perfectly from the wreath, it’s time to add the micro lights! These lights will give your bat wreath a soft, eerie glow, perfect for spooky nights. Start by tucking the battery pack into the back of the wreath, hiding it behind the branches so it’s out of sight.

Next, string the micro lights around the wreath, weaving them in and out of the branches. The lights should subtly illuminate the bats without overpowering the entire wreath. Once you’re happy with how the lights look, set the timer on the micro lights so they’ll automatically turn on at dusk, adding a magical touch to your Halloween decor.

Step 5: Hang Up and Enjoy!

Your Pottery Barn-inspired Halloween Bat Wreath is now complete! All that’s left is to hang it up on your door, mantel, or wall and admire your work. The bats will appear to be flying in mid-air, thanks to the dangling macrame cords, and the lights will give off a soft, spooky glow.

This wreath is such a fun and easy way to bring your Halloween decor to life, and it costs a fraction of the price of the original Pottery Barn version. I love how simple materials like macrame cord, PVC bats, and a twig wreath can be transformed into a chic, high-end decor piece. Plus, with the added micro lights, it’s perfect for both day and night displays.

Every time I create a DIY version of an expensive decor piece, I’m reminded of how satisfying it is to craft something beautiful and budget-friendly. This Pottery Barn-inspired Halloween Bat Wreath is a great example of that! Not only does it save money, but it also allows you to customize it to your taste.
