15 Themed Christmas Tree Decorating Ideas
Hi friends! Can you believe it’s Christmas time? it’s my favorite time of the year. One of my favorite way to celebrate Christmas is creating a beautiful tree for the holidays. I love creating a theme with a matching mantel too. I’ve been sharing my tree ideas for almost 15 years here at tatertotsandjello.com, so I thought it would be fun to round up the ideas and share!! I hope they give you some inspiration!
Colorful Disco Ball Christmas Tree
This year I went with a disco ball theme. I think disco balls are so festive. I created a disco ball wreath and added disco balls to my tree and also a disco ball centerpiece in our dining room!
Christmas Tree Mantel and Tree
Last year was one of my favorite themes. I took a Christmas Tree Farm from Hobby Lobby, painted it and made tissue paper trees. In the tree I added paper tissue balls.
Candy Cane Themed Tree
A classic candy cane themed tree is always a cute idea at Christmas time! I love the pops of red and white. I added a sleigh and pretty red and white merry christmas pillow!
Colorful Falalala Tree
A falalala tree is a fun theme. I found these signs and decorated the tree around them. I loved the plaid ribbon with all of the happy colors that matched the ornaments o the embroidery hoop wreath and bottle brush trees.
Joy to the World Tree and Mantel Theme
One of my very favorite themes. I created a Joy to the World mantel using a large branch and hanging embroidery hoops that say Joy to tThe World. I also created a large JOY sign and made these colorful wood slice snowflake ornaments
Santa North Pole Tree Theme
A Santa tree is sure to delight your family! I added these sweet Santa ornaments, created a SANTA saying in the middle of the tree and even added coal to the sleigh under the tree.
I’ll Be Home For Christmas Tree
This was such a fun one. I found paper mache houses. I painted them and added glitter. Then I put the houses in the tree and on the dining room table. I also created a Home for the Holidays sign that I put in the tree too.
Family Photo Tree
This was such a sweet tree. I painted wood frames white and added black and white family photos. I also stenciled the crate and put the tree inside.
12 Days of Christmas Tree
Another favorite. This 12 Days of Christmas tree was so fun to make! Giant candy canes and different sized packages with the number of each of the twelve days! Inside the packages are activities and treats!
Joyeux Noel Gold Themed Tree
Gold is always pretty for the holidays. I made this Joyeux Noel sign. Built a gold crate fir the treem=, spray painted an old door for the mantel and created gold fabric trees along with gold stockings this year.
Sunburst Christmas Tree
This year I was inspired by some sunburst ornaments from Ballard Designs. I made my own sunburst mirrors with popsicle sticks! I loved the natural elements in this tree.
Cottage Themed Tree
Black and white checked were the cottage theme of this tree the first year we lived in our cottage. I loved the tree tucked into the curve of our spiral staircase.
Pom Pom Tree
Last year I decorated an outdoor tree ad it made our back entrance so festive. I themed it my pom pom tree and I used pom pom yarn I found at JoAnn Stores and pink and white pom pom garlands. I felt so whimsical!
Merry Red and Turquoise Themed Tree
This year I matched my Christmas decor to my couch. I added red and turquoise ornaments with snowflakes to the tree and added red and turquoise pinwheels to the mantel that spelled MERRY,
Hello Christmas Tree
I loved our little entryway at the 1905 cottage. It was perfect for a little tree. This one was simple and went so well with the plaid pillows. I loved the dutch door and the glittering hello sign.
