Valentine’s Day DIY Signs

Here’s a really easy way to make Valentine’s Day signs! I found clearance signs at Hobby Lobby for 80% off. I used white paint to paint over the designs and then added letters on top of the signs to spell “Be Mine”. You can write any message you want! Note — I’ve experimented with a few different adhesives to hold letters onto signs. This is what I have found. I tried hot glue and it doesn’t hold up well. I ended up using E6000 and ran a bead of it on the backside of the letters. Let the adhesive cure for 24 hours but it will hold the letters onto the signs.
Layer Tassel Garlands on Valentine Mantel
I love to collect different garlands when I see them go on sale. I use the different tassel garlands throughout the year for different holidays. For this mantel I layered three different tassel garlands together.
Hang Valentine Paper Garlands Vertically
This year I thought it would be fun to emphasize our tall ceilings by hangings some garlands down vertically! These are 6-sided heart garlands. You can create these by cutting out three hearts, sewing them in the middle and fanning the hearts out. But I found these online and the package came with 6 garlands for under $10. Such a good deal!
Add Fresh Flowers or Leaves to a Valentine Mantel
I always try to incorporate a natural element n my mantel. I put fresh eucalyptus eucalyptus leaves in my favorite pink vase. I love the way the pink looks with the red colors for Valentine’s Day!
Candles Add Warmth to a Valentine Mantel
Can you believe I found these pink candles at the dollar store? Such a great deal and I love the way they look with the soft pink vase. At night I can light the candles to bring a soft, romantic feeling into the room.
Add Hearts to a Little Tree
When I hung the heart garlands vertically I trimmed the garlands above the signs. I took the leftover hearts and hung them on a little faux evergreen tree. Placing the tree on the fireplace hearth or in front of the fireplace brings the eye down and continues the Valentine theme!
Add a Valentine Coffee Table Centerpiece
Another way you can bring Valentine cheer into your room is by making a coordinating centerpiece on your table or coffee table. I used a simple tray, added $1 heart filler also found at the dollar store and then put a faux plant inside of a little bucket with a heart!

So cute! Thank you for sharing! Are the letters you adhered to the painted signs found at hobby lobby as well?
