Anthropologie-Inspired Holiday Felt Wreath. Create a whimsical holiday wreath with layers of fluffy wool, felted balls and adorable tissue paper trees.
Anthropologie-Inspired Holiday Felt Wreath
I love Anthropologie’s style – it’s so COLORFUL and whimsical. Sometimes when I’m feeling down or stressed I head over to my store and walk around, soaking up the bright, happy vibes. So when I was looking for holiday inspiration, I immediately headed to Anthro’s online store.

Felt is Perfect for Holiday Crafting
I have been holiday crafting with felt for over a decade. Felt has such a cozy texture which is so cute for holiday crafting. Over the years I have shared some fun felt projects — a Christmas Felt Flower Wreath, Felt Heart Typography Ornaments, Felt Christmas EOS Gnomes.
Felt Can Be Expensive
High quality felt can be pricey. I headed to my local craft store where the selection of felt wasn’t quite the right shade off light off-white. I ended up using a felt-looking batting material that matched the color of the Anthropologie wreath. Plus the cost was significantly less than wool felt. I found the wool batting at Hobby Lobby. When you use your 40% off coupon the price was under $8 for the material.
Use Pinking Shears to Create a Leaf Effect
The original Anthropologie wreath has laser-cut felt leaves that are very intricate. To create a textured leaf shape I used my pining shears to cut out the leafs.
Anthropologie-Inspired Holiday Felt Leaf Wreath Supplies
Here are the supplies I used to make this copycat holiday felt wreath, inspired by Anthropologie’s Felt Berry Wreath.
- Batting Material (1 yard)
- Wreath Form (I used a 14-inch form)
- Pinking Shears
- Scissors
- Hot Glue
- Felt Balls
- Trees (optional. The trees I used are $1 at Target’s Dollar Spot)
Wrap Wreath Form with Felt Batting
Use felt or batting into 4-inch strips and wrap the wreath form. I used some regular batting under the felt batting to bulk up the wreath form first. Then I wrapped the form in the batting material.
Cut a Felt Strip
Cut a 1-inch strip of felt that is 8 inches long. Wrap the strip around the wreath and hot glue the strip together and hot glue the strip at the top of the wreath, making a loop. This is how you will hang the wreath on your wall or door.
Create Felt Leaves
To recreate the Anthropologie leafs I cut out two different sizes of leafs. One is quite large (6 inches in length). The smaller leaf is 3 inches in length. There is also a holly-shaped leaf that I cut out with regular scissors.
Two Sizes of Felt Leaves
Cut out the two different sizes of leaves. I cut out 20 of the larger leaves and 30 of the smaller leaves.
Cut Out the Holly Leaves
Cut out the holly leaf shape. I cut out 10 holly leaves to use together in 5 pairs on the wreath.
Lay Out Felt Leaves
Start at the top of the wreath and lay out the leaves. The leaves start at the top and angle downward toward the bottom of the wreath. Most of the smaller leaves go underneath, followed by the larger leaves and then the holly leaves on the top.
Glue all the Leaves on the Wreath
Use hot glue to glue all of the layers of leaves on the wreath. Make sure that the leaves go around the sides of the wreath so you don’t have naked patches on the sides of the wreath.
Glue Felt Balls on the Wreath
Hot glue felt balls evenly on the wreath.
Add Trees to the Center of the Wreath
If you decide to add trees, hot glue them on the center of the wreath. I put the white tree slightly in front of the other trees.
Hang Up Your Wreath
Enjoy your wreath! Hang it on your door. Hang it on your mantel. Hang it on a wall. Enjoy the whimsical cuteness for a fraction of the original wreath.
