Kids Will Love Decorating Baking Soda Ornaments
Leave your baking soda ornaments the beautiful natural white color or paint them into whatever colors and designs your kids want to create!
Simple Designs to Paint on Baking Soda Ornaments
The thing I love most about Scandinavian design are the simple and clean overall look! With plain red paint you can create simple flower and snowflake designs that are perfect for creating holiday cheer!
Add Bells and Beads to Baking Soda Ornaments
Another design feature that I love about Scandinavian decor is the use of plain wood and beautiful bells for the holidays! I used leather cord to string simple wood beads and bells to hang up our handmade ornaments!
How to Make Baking Soda Ornaments
How to Make Baking Soda Ornaments
I used the Arm and Hammer recipe to make these ornaments. The only difference is that I cooked the dough in the microwave. To do this I poured the baking soda, cornstarch and warm water in a microwave-safe bowl and cooked it on high heat for 40 seconds. Then I stirred the dough and did this four times until the dough became thick and held together in a ball.
Add Baking Soda Ornaments to Holiday Packages
These handmade baking soda ornaments also make a gorgeous holiday gift topper. Friends and relatives will love seeing this handmade ornament on top of their gifts. Kids can also carve out a person’s name or stamp an initial into the dough ornament before it’s baked!
