Happy Wednesday everyone!  I’m so excited to be here again and this time I’m sharing another great organizing trick!A couple months ago I received this great question from one of my readers: “Do you have any good ideas on how to organize sweaters? I don’t like to hang them up because they lose their shape and they aren’t in a drawer because I don’t have the space.  I currently have them folded in a box, but they always end up all over the place and wrinkled.  I live in a tiny apartment and my husband and I share a dresser, which means only two drawers each! I also don’t have any shelf space, it’s taken up by my craft supplies. Just wondering if you had any out of the box ideas.”

Out of the box ideas?  I sure love a good challenge, especially when it comes to organizing in a small space! At first I wasn’t sure if I would be able to come up with a good solution, because with no dresser space and no shelf space, there weren’t a lot of options.
And then it came to me, what about a hanging shoe organizer!?  It’s the perfect solution because it can hang in the closet, or on a door, it doesn’t require much space, and it has perfect little cubbies for each sweater.
There are lot of different sizes of shoe organizers but these are the two that I think would work perfectly.
This one is great for someone like me, that doesn’t have a lot of sweaters.
{And I just so happened to have one laying around!}
Or this one is perfect if you have a large collection of sweaters.  It is also nice because it has clear cubbies.

First hang the sweater organizer in the closet, or on a door.

Next take all your sweaters out, fold them nicely and then roll them to fit into the compartments.  If you take the time to roll them then you won’t have to worry about them getting wrinkled!

Each sweater will have it’s own cubbie which will keep them nicely organized.

I put sweaters on the top and sweatshirts on the bottom.

This is such a simple solution for organizing sweaters, sweat shirts, jeans, etc.  It clears up drawer space and shelf space, which makes it a win win solution for everyone!  I even even have extra drawer space now!  Woo-hoo!!!

Thanks for letting me be here with you today!  I always enjoy sharing my tips with you, and thanks Jen for being such a great hostess!  So now the only question is… what will you organize with this simple tip???

    Be very careful storing your sweaters with the shoe organizer. If your closet system isn’t the sturdiest, you may be rudely awakened to the sound of your entire closet falling down. Or so I’ve been told 🙂

    This is awesome, I do this too! My mother in law had three of the nice canvas shoe holders she was going to throw away. I asked if I could have them to store my sweaters she looked at me like I was nuts. I told her I had planned on rolling my sweaters up and that it was so much more convenient then trying to drag the under bed storage out every few days to get to a sweater! The best part is that this spring/summer once it starts getting warm again the sweaters will get put back under the bed to make room for more dresses!

      You can hang them if you want but a lot of times they’ll end up getting stretched out. 🙂
