Mini concrete fire bowl
You can use this as the center of your tabletop fire bowl OR use it on it’s own since it is designed to be a self-standing fire bowl. (link provided below – And it’ s on sale right now. You can get the discount by clicking the coupon before adding it to your cart!)
Creating the Tabletop Fire Bowl
- Begin by pouring pea gravel into the base of the planter. This will provide a stable foundation for the fire bowl.
- Insert the concrete center with the steel burner cup into the center of the planter. Ensure that the top of the concrete bowl is even with the top of the planter.
- Add decorative stones over the pea gravel until the entire planter is full and even to the top. This will help to conceal the pea gravel and create a visually appealing display.
About the Mini Concrete Fire Bowl
Looking for an alternative to DIY? Consider the mini concrete fire pit, currently on sale with a 5% off coupon. With thick walls, this fire pit is smokeless and odorless, ensuring a pleasant experience. It comes with two stainless steel burner cups to prevent fuel leaks and reduce heat dissipation. Additionally, the stainless steel lid makes extinguishing the fire quick and easy.
Choosing the Right Fuel for Your Fire Bowl
There are several options for fueling your tabletop fire bowl. Here are your options:
Rubbing Alcohol as a Fuel Source
One popular choice is isopropyl rubbing alcohol. It burns cleanly without producing smoke, making it safe for use outdoors or indoors. You can even roast s’mores over the flames without worrying about chemical contamination.
Petroleum-Based Tiki Torch Fuel
Another option is petroleum-based tiki torch fuel, which can be purchased alone or with citronella for added bug deterrent. If using tiki torch fuel, it’s important not to use the concrete center mentioned earlier. Instead, a separate container linked in the supply list can be filled with tiki torch fuel and placed in the center of the planter. However, it’s advised not to use the fire bowl for cooking food like s’mores if using this type of fuel.
Where Can I Use a Tabletop Fire Bowl?
While I’ve showcased this tabletop fire bowl on our patio ottoman, there are endless possibilities for its use. You can place it on a table, bench, or ottoman outdoors, or bring it indoors for added coziness. Since rubbing alcohol burns cleanly, it’s suitable for use on dining room tables, coffee tables, or even kitchen islands. I plan to bring mine indoors during the fall and winter months to enjoy throughout the year.
