DIY Summertime Instagram Display Wall!

Are you on Instagram? I have to say that it’s my newest passion. I just love capturing everyday moments with my kids and also sharing behind-the-scene updates on projects.

I have been wanting to make a photo board to  show off these pictures for quite awhile.

My friends at Michaels contacted me a few weeks ago and shared some SUPER exciting news. They are now carrying fabric!! Isn’t that great?? I’m so excited about it and I immediately thought of making a fabric Instagram Display Board. I headed out to my local Michaels store to see all of the selections. There were so many options – I finally decided on this bright yellow fabric and I thought it would be perfect with my newly-madeover Summer family room. There are all kinds of colors of  fabric, plus different textured fabric like burlpas, linens, felt, faux fur, velvet and tulle. And different lengths of fabric from 1/2 yard to 2 yards. Oh the possibilities!!

Summertime Instagram Display Wall is brought to you by Michaels Craft Stores.

Here’s how I made the Instagram Display Wall:

Picture Frame

Eye Hooks

Picture Hanging Wire

Instagram Photos

Scrapbook Paper Frames (optional)

1/2 yard of fabric

Command Strip Hooks (optional to hang without holes)

I used a Silhouette Christmas Advent frame that I repurposed for this project, but you can make your own photo frame very easily. Here’s how to make your own DIY Photo Frame:

To make the frame:

Determine how many rows of pictures you want to hang for your frame

Then measure out the rows and mark them on the frame.

Screw eye hooks into those marks.

Then string wire through hooks and then wrap around itself to secure edges

Measure the back of the frame and cut out a piece of cardboard that size.

Then cut the fabric to the same size as the cardboard and attach it with tape (I used painters tape)

And attach the fabric-covered back to the frame also using tape, or you can use a staple gun.

Print off your Instagram pictures using a company like Persnickety Prints or even on thick photo paper on your home computer.

Hang up your pictures.

You can add a bow to the bottom if you want.

This is such a simple idea. I love seeing all of those happy memories each time I walk into my family room. And I love that I can switch the photos and fabric out with the seasons. I can’t wait to make a Halloween version of the board!!

If you have the Walgreens app on your phone, you can print your Instagram photos right from the app to your nearest Walgreens in an hour (or less!).
