Make an Easy Halloween Ribbon Table Runner!!

I’d love to share a simple and easy easy Ribbon Table Runner.

You can make this runner for any holiday, simply by changing out the color and pattern of ribbons. All it takes are a few basic materials to make!

Here’s how to make one:

  1. Pick out some ribbon.
  2. Cut a length of burlap. I used the lightest burlap I could find. I made my table runner 72-inches in length. Make yours about 12 inches longer than your table length.I also made the burlap runner about 24 inches in width.
  3. Cut the ribbon to the same width as your burlap fabric.
  4. Lay the ribbon out on the burlap fabric.
  5. Pin the ribbon on the fabric.
  6. Sew the ribbon onto the fabric. And if you don’t have a sewing machine, you can use iron-on Stitch Witchery or fabric glue. I used my sewing machine and I also used different types of stitches, straight and zig-zag.
  7. Fray the edges of your runner.

You’re done!!!

You can also switch the colors and patterns of ribbon up and make different ones for:

  • Thanksgiving — golds, reds and browns…

  • Christmas — Red and Green….

  • Valentine’s Day — Reds and Pinks….

  • St. Patrick’s Day — Greens….

  • Easter & Spring — Pastels….

  • Or make one to match your decor with YOUR colors!!

Make one and bring some COLOR into your table decor!!!

    Okay I have to ask where you got the cute little cupcake glass stand from that is holding the bronze pumpkin? I recently found the same exact one at goodwill and fell in love with it, and I’ve been curious as to where it’s from incase they still have them…I want another one! 😉 Thanks.

      I just love that little stand! I bought it at Hobby Lobby last year. I just saw them there the other day if you want to pick another one up. I love the edges of it and the size 🙂

      I love the polka dots. And I wanted to make a runner all in black and white to match the rest of my Halloween decor, but I felt it needed a little more color to make it a bit more festive 🙂 Thanks for the sweet comment. I loved your Oyster Roast post. What a great party idea!

      Hi Laura!

      Burlap is a little messy when you cut it. A tip that I have found is when you figure out where you want to cut the burlap, find the end of a piece of the burlap thread and pull it out. It creates a space so you can see where to cut it so it’s even. And then when you fray the edges they will be even. And then if you think it will unravel too much, you can put some “Fray Stop” on it. Or, I like to use the same color thread and sew along the edges of the fray and that will keep the edges fron fraying further 🙂
