Five Ways to Create an Easy Fourth of July Table. Create a festive red white and blue table using dollar items.
Fourth of July Table Using Dollar Items
I love decorating for holidays – especially the Fourth of July! One of my favorite traditions for the Fourth is cooking a festive meal for my family. I’m sharing how to create a fun and festive holiday table using inexpensive items, many are dollar items!
Dollar Items Are Inexpensive and Easy to Find
Many of the items on our Fourth of July Table are from either the Dollar Tree or Target’s Dollar Spot section. When I go into the Dollar Tree I scour the aisles for anything red or blue that might work for the holiday. Sometimes the items are out with the Fourth of July items, but sometimes there are plates, lanterns or items that aren’t specifically targeted as Fourth of July and are on other aisles that work.
Check Out Fourth of July Sales the Next Day
Some of my items were found at sales the day after the Fourth! I love getting items 75% and sometimes 90% off and saving them for the next year! You can ALWAYS find the flags each year at Dollar Tree.
Five Ways to Create an Easy Fourth of July Table
Here are some easy ways to create a beautiful and easy Fourth of July Table!
Start With a Tablecloth or Runner
I always start with a tablecloth or runner. You can find runners at dollar stores and the dollar spot. This runner is one that I have had for a few years. I love the blue checks for everyday and it works perfectly for the Fourth of July too!
Layer on a Garland
After I lay the runner down, I add a garland over the top. This wood garland is from the Dollar Spot. Other ideas are a flower garland or even a paper garland would be cute!
Create a Simple Centerpiece
I like to add a centerpiece to the middle of the table. This is a galvanized tiered tray that I use all year round. I added some dollar spot lanterns and a couple Dollar Tree flags in a vase at the top. I also layered a couple lighted star garlands that I found at the dollar spot last year. I love the way the lights glow at night!
Here are a couple other centerpiece ideas I’ve made in the past:

Colorful Plates or Napkins
I found these patriotic plates last year at the dollar spot. You can also use white plates and add bright napkins on top for color. And if you don’t have plates that match the decor, grab some paper plates in the color scheme. You can also find paper plates and cups at the dollar spot or the Dollar Tree!
Tie Napkins with Colorful Ribbon
An alternative to expensive napkin rings is tying your napkins with ribbon! It’s an inexpensive way to bring color into your patriotic table! I used red and white gingham ribbon but you can use any ribbon you want! The Dollar Tree usually has a good assortment of festive Fourth of July ribbon to choose from!
Other Ways to Decorate Your Dining Room for the Fourth of July
I have some floating shelves so I added a few lanterns and flags to those shelves. If you are eating outdoors, you can add flags to your planters for instant Fourth of July decor! So easy!
