I love a yummy salad.

Here is one of our family favorites: BLT Salad with Homemade Ranch Dressing.

Family Favorite: BLT Salad with Homemade Ranch Dressing!
Recipe Type: Salad
Cuisine: BLT Salad with Homemade Ranch Dressing
Author: Jennifer Hadfield
It’s a salad that can be served as a side or it’s hearty enough to be a main course for lunch or dinner!
Ingredients
  • 0 strips of bacon
  • Croutons (see this recipe tutorial)
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 2/3 c.buttermilk
  • 4 T. Mayo ( I use reduced-fat to cut down on calories)
  • 3 T. cider vinegar
  • 1 bunch of green onions, sliced very thin.
  • 1 pount of romain lettuce hearts, chopped.
  • 1 pint of cherry tomatoes
Instructions
  1. My favorite way to cook the bacon is in the oven. Preheat your oven to 375-degrees. Arrange the bacon on a rimmed baking sheet with parchmnet paper underneath. Bake until the bacon is crispy — approximately 15-20 minutes. Transfer the bacon to a paper towel-line plate to drain. Let cook and then cut into small sections with kitchen shears.
  2. Make the croutons.
  3. Make the ranch dressing. Whisk together the buttermilk, mayo, vinegar, green onions and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Add lettuce and tomatoes — toss to coat with the ranch dressing. Sprinkle croutons and bacon over the top.

Your recipe calls for green onions. The directions call for green peppers. As my son loves ranch dressing, which is the proper one? thanks.
