I love family history and teaching my children about their heritage. My friend and neighbor Amy Dott showed me a really cool family generation framed print that her mom had created abut 20 years ago. I loved the idea and thought wouldn’t it be cool to blow up the pictures of her ancestors and really showing them off in a gallery wall? Family Generations Gallery Wall and Printables.
I think it’s so cool that she has eight generation of strong women from her family. Family Generations Gallery Wall and printables.
I created some family definition printables that go along with this idea of a family generations gallery wall. Black with white letters, white with black letters and big sizes that I printed on my Canon PIXMA Crafting Printer.
And I’m sharing this idea in a fun Family Generations Gallery Wall video over at the My Craft Channel today – check it out!! I think decorating with meaningful photographs is so wonderful. Don’t forget to take photos all the time. I hope you like this project idea, let me know if you make one for your home.
And here are the printables!
To download the 5.5 x 7.5 sayings (in white on black and black on white) and the photo template – sized to fit in the frame – just right-click this link or the thumbnails below and choose “save link as.”

CURIOUS … WHEN YOU DO A GENERATIONAL PHOTO FRAME, WHO DO YOU CHOSE ? EVERYBODY HAS TWO BRANCHES OF THEIR TREE … MATERNAL & PATERNAL. WHO GETS INCLUDED ?

Hi Toni!
I guess you could do two different gallery walls 🙂

Oh, these are bigger than I imagined hanging on the wall! So lovely! The frames, then, are what size?
Jen says
Hi! They are square frames from Ikea. I think they are 11×11 but then they have mats. So I just centered the images within the mats and trimmed the paper.
