And how cute is her Patriotic Mantel??[...] We usually rotate through the following several times, depending on the length of our trip. I’ve included things that we have done, but feel free to add your own ideas. I also linked you up to sites that may give you additional ideas to choose from. An idea is taking some of these ideas and doling them out at specific times or points along the way. Your kids can visually track their progress on a chart (so you don’t have to answer “Are we there yet?” through your whole trip!) or if you want to get really fancy, you can make one out of a shoe bag! I LOVE this idea! I so need to do this!
I love this idea! We have been really hesitant to plan a long car trip with my 18 month old. I can see how something like this would help pass the time. As a Reading teacher, I also love the use of sequencing:)
I LOVE THIS! We are going on a trip to Disney and I am dreading the long drive there….i may have to make a Disney themed one! Thanks so much for the idea!!
Love this idea! We drive 14 hrs to visit my parents each summer, and the trip will be so much more fun with one of these hanging in front of each boy. Thanks for sharing.
Here is an idea for you……it worked for us when we traveled.
Purchase a metal cake pan with a lid for each child.
Inside the pan, put crayons, markers, paper, coloring books/pages, small toys and trinkets, stickers,
small magnetic games, A new paperback book, and anything else that your child would enjoy.
The cake pan can hold a lot of things, and keep your child occupied while traveling. The lid keeps it
all in one place. Turn the pan over, to use as a ” lap desk for coloring, and drawing.
Have fun !
