What Sparks your Creativity?

What did we do before Pinterest came into our lives? I am a visual person and I love that I can create a board there with ideas for a room and that room comes to life for me.

I did that for my Kitchen Redmodel and even though I came up with my own style and projects for the space, having that visual board as inspiration really sparked my creativity.

I know I have mentioned my Master Bedroom dilemma quite a few times in the two years since I’ve been working on the space. So I thought it would be helpful to create a pinboard for that room, in the hopes that I can get a plan for it and finish it!

Creating a pinboard for that space really has helped me visualize the projects I want to tackle to create  my Dream Bedroom.

And speaking of Dream Spaces, be sure to head over to Arrow Fasteners and enter their $10,000 Dream Room Contest.

I know, I never think I’ll win anything, but someone has to win, right? I would be so happy if someone I know wins!! Just think of the room you can design with that kind of moolah!

Tell me, what space are you struggling with at YOUR house?

And what would you do with that space if you won $10,000??

I’d love to know!!

xoxo

Arrow Fasteners sponsored this post. I think it’s a great contest and I was happy to share it with you! I hope one of you WINS!

  1. Jen you have the best giveaways! We have an open style ranch with the fireplace in the middle of the Kitchen, Living Room, and Craft/Office/Dining Room, so I pretty much have no idea what to do with any of it! $10,000 would help A LOT!!

  2. My craft space is merely a former linen closet filled with bins of crafting materials… It is time for mama to upgrade! We have an enormous unfinished basement. The back portion has tons of shelves and a work counter. I want to turn that into a craft room and it is going to need serious to work! I already have a craft room pinterest board in the works.

  3. Which room am I struggling with? Well, my hubby and I just bought our first home, and have next to no furniture, so I’m pretty much struggling with ALL of my rooms! Especially my living/dining/kitchen. We have an open floor plan on our first level, so everything runs together, so the design has to flow from one room to another… I’ll get there someday!

    • Kimberly Grafton » Good luck Kim!! My first floor is kind of like that. My kitchen and family room are one big room so they kind of have to go together. Go over and enter, I would be so happy if you won!!!

  4. I have a hard time decorating our bedrooms. My hubs doesn’t do the whole decorate your house thing. Just what is functional. Also my kids share a room, 6 y/o girl and 2 y/o boy, it is a challenge. If I won the money would go to decorate and functionalize either bedroom. That would make all of is happy! Love your spaces and pinterest boards. I would never gave thought of using blue in the kitchen but that color is one of my favs. Good luck to you!

  5. Your blog was my inspiration! :)

  6. I am obsessed with Pinterest! I have found so many fabulous ideas on there! I only wish I had high speed internet. That would make it a lot easier.

    • Yes!! They need a bigger server or something. When I was writing this post it was driving me crazy, I had to refresh each page a few times to get it to load…

  7. I definitely want to redo my family room. We remodeled our very large loft two years ago and made half a bedroom for our boys and half a family room. We love the new family room but there are still lots of details that need attention. If I win the arrow contest that is the room I will redo. Thanks for letting us know. Love your site!

  8. My entire house, does that count!! Haha, my master bedroom is the worst of them all, I have done nothing in that room and we have been in our house for 5 years. I just don’t know where to start!

  9. We are having every wall and every ceiling retextured in our 1928 bungalow – not gutting but pretty massive repairs from the last owners – and the money would finish that HuGe project and have plenty left over for dining chairs and master bedroom furniture!

  10. So great! I also just did a post about pinterest!

  11. I am in the process of remodeling my girls’ room which it would be fun to have the money for that. But I think I would rather put the money towards my master bedroom. We have lived in our house for almost 4 years and it needs some spunk, we are using the same comforter we got when we were first married :( I have so many ideas but alas without money not much can happen. Winning this could give me my dream master bedroom!!!

  12. I’m hoping to turn our nursery into a craft room soon…and it is going to need a lot of work! $10,000 would nice to have to help me:)

  13. I’m struggling with a lot, but probably the kitchen, specifically. The golden oak, bad tile (it never, ever looks clean), cabinet doors that don’t close, a boxy flourescent light overhead…But the worst of it was the walls. When we moved in, there was a sandpaper-textured dark brown paint OVER hideous floral wallpaper. We have had to use lots of chemicals and scrubbing to get that stuff off! $10000 would let me finish it all off…and actually like it at the end :)

    • Oh gosh! It sounds like you have and are doing so much work to your home. You really do need to win!!

  14. What color is that Martha Stewart paint that you have on your style board? Absolutely love it! Our living room is in need of a spruce up and that color would be perfect! And $10,000? Holy cow we could do a lot… refinish the hardwood floors, spruce up the living room and bedroom, and finish up some almost done projects.

    • I am addicted to Martha’s colors. The one that’s pinned is MS Rainwater. I have it in my kitchen too. Very light green/blue soothing :)

  15. I love your idea board for your kitchen. That star pillow is so cool… If I was to win a $10,000 room make over I would have a custom craft room made for myself. Lot’s of shelves and storage. Right now I work out of an armoire and my dining room table. I’m so addicted to Pintrest.

  16. We are in the middle of installing hardwood floors by ourselves in the kitchen, dining and living room areas…it’s hard!!!! If I had the money I’d pay someone to finish up this killer of a job, buy some furniture that isn’t all refinished hand me downs and finally get some cutains.
    oh—and a zebra print rug—because that would be fun…

    • A zebra rug would be really fun!! I want hardwood floors in my kitchen too. Sounds so pretty!

  17. Oh most certainly pictures and Vintage movies for sure… Tickle my Creative Bone…:) I actually find myself staying away from Pinterest because it seems once I get on I can’t get off….

  18. Love pinterest, I am also very visual, I could have bookmarked all day and never gone back and looked at them but I am constantly going back to pinterest to check things out and it makes it soooooo much easier to give credit when I am inspired by another persons idea. Also, um 10,000 could redo my whole house, not just one room lol!

    • I know, right?? $10,000 is so much. I don’t know what I would do with myself with that amount of money!!
