My kids started school last week –I’m not sure where the summer went! We have some traditions that we love to make going back to school special for our kids. The first is documenting the first day of school.
Last year my friend Kami introduced me to Chalkboard Bubbles and I had such a fun time documenting the first day of school with them!! I did the same thing this year- it’s so amazing how the kids change from year to year!!
Target is the place where we get the majority of our clothes, including back to school clothes. I LOVE that Target has great quality, fashionable clothes for such amazing prices. If you see my family or I on the street, the chances are about 100% that something we are wearing comes from Target.
Target’s Cherokee line is one of my favorite Target lines. We were just there last week looking at Fall coats and Hannah found this black wool Cherokee peacoat that she loved.

Fav tradition…I guess the big 'school shopping' trip is really all we do, but it's fun and an event. My tradition growing up was my mom always sending us off to school wearing one of her necklaces, a cross or dove, telling us we could touch it, any time we felt nervous and remember that she was at home praying for us. I have one girl who's past the being nervous stage, and 3 boys…who aren't all that interested in wearing my necklaces. LOL

At the start of each year I take a traditional photo of my boys all ready for school by the front door. It's fun to see how they've grown from the previous years!

I started a new tradition this year. We read stories like the Night Before Kindergarten, The Night Before First Grade, The Best Seat in Second Grade. We also continued having personal interviews with each child &organizing talking g about what they were excited for, scared about, what they wanted to accomplish this year.

I LOVE to shop for school supplies, my daughter and I have such a blast picking the perfect items. My boys, they're not nearly as concerned but we still have fun putting the items all together.
