I was excited to try out the Oreck AirInstinct air Purifier for a few reasons.

First of all, I have asthma and I have a hard time breathing when there is a lot of pollution in the air. Where I live we have some bad inversion in the winter and it really affects my breathing. Plus, I have severe spring allergies. And my husband and all four of my kids have allergies. Two of my kids have year-round allergies. Yes, we are a mess!!!

Some of my favorite things I discovered about the Oreck AirInstinct system are:

  • It’s Smart. The AirInstinct has a particulate sensor and when set on automatic, it will automatically detect how clean the air is and adjust itself. So you can turn it on and walk away.
  • It’s Efficient. It’s ENERGY STAR® qualified and is the most powerful air purifier that Oreck has ever offered.
  • It Cleans. It captures 99.97% of allergens, pet dander, smoke and dust from the air.
  • It’s Quiet. One of my favorite things about the system is the Quiet setting. It is virtually soundless. I put it on at night and as a light sleeper I cannot hear it at all.
  • It’s Built to Last. The AirInstinct has a 5 year warranty. And uses a HEPA filter – the highest grade filter on the market. The filter has a 3 year warranty and the middle filter can be washed out.

I also love the chiming sounds the AirInstinct makes. And the lights are so pretty. Plus, when you have the system on Automatic, the lights change, depending on what level the system is running on. And the lights are nice at night in case you are sleeping and need to get up in the middle of the night so you don’t trip over it. You can also turn the lights off in case you need complete darkness to sleep.When the system is set on automatic, it has a light sensor and if the lights turn out, the system automatically adjusts itself within three minutes to sleep mode. Plus, the system will clean a complete room the size of a master bedroom every 13 minutes. Amazing.

    This would be so awesome to have! If you’ve ever lived in military housing you know that mold is a constant issue! We’ve all developed mold allergies. Oreck has never really disappointed me with their products so I’m sure this worth the $500 they’re asking for it!

    I love the fact that theAirInstinct has 4 color levels that SHOWS that it is working! Very cool! I also love that it is “whisper” quiet…. I get awakened in the night by the fan and humidifier and I can’t go back to sleep. This wouldn’t add to the “white” noise.

    I’m having our 1st baby in Aug so this would be AWESOME to help clean and purify the air… we live in the country so we have lots of dust and Pollen.

    First of all, I didn’t know Oreck made air filters…and then I found out they have something called the Truman cell which is a type of filtration system. This is very practical, but also pretty gorgeous!

    Something I learned that I absolutely LOVE about the Orick AirInstinct 200 is that it automatically detects how clean your air is. That is such a great feature. I have two cats who shed like crazy, so this would be great for our home. We also are surrounded by trees here and the pollen amount is unbearable at times. My daughter always wants to run outside, but sometimes I have to prepare for the allergies that the high amount of pollen brings.

What really sold it for me is that the unit is not only smart and knows how much filtration is needed, but it has child safety features to help protect little curious children that might be in my house.

    at first when I saw this I wondered how often you need to replace the filter and where you buy them, plus how much they cost….upon visiting the site I learned that you can wash the filter with water and you never need to replace it. That’s AMAZING! I would love to win this as we have two small dogs and a son with very sensitive skin, which I would think this may help his skin clear up if we can always keep the pet hair/dust to a minimum:)

    Oh my goodness, I had no idea our indoor air can be worsethan outdoor – I’ve been keeping my little 3 year old allergy sufferer inside rather than expose her to the outdoor allergens. Epic Fail!! I hadn’t herad of this product and would love the chance to win one!! My severe food allergy child also has asthma symptoms and is on the brink of that diagnosis. I’m sure the old carpet in our home doesn’t help!

It is fun and this time of the year is the worst for me. One of our dogs also has problems with allergies (poor baby) so this would be very helpful in our bedroom.
