Spring Dining Room Tablescape. 6 Easy Ways to Create a Gorgeous Tablescape for ANY Season!
Spring Dining Room Tablescape
As my kids have grown up and moved out of the house, one of the things I look forward to most is our frequent family dinners! I love gathering everyone together to catch up over a meal. It doesn’t have to be fancy, even take-out is special when it’s around a pretty table. And Easter/Spring time is a great time to enjoy a beautiful table!

A big thanks to my friend Pasha at Pasha is Home for putting together this fun spring hop, with friends who are sharing the prettiest ideas. 6 Easy Ways to Create a Beautiful Tablescape
The trick to creating a pretty tablescape is layering! Here are 6 easy steps to creating a beautiful tablescape for any season or occasion!
Start with a Runner or Tablecloth
I usually use runners but you can also use a tablecloth as your first layer. Pick a runner or tablecloth that is either neutral or has the focal colors you want to use on your tablescape.
Create a Focal Centerpiece
Once you have your runner or tablecloth on, you add a centerpiece to the middle of the table. I think flowers are always a pretty centerpiece. But you can get creative. Take a pretty clear glass bowl with a rattan bottom and added faux hydrangeas. Fresh hydrangeas are gorgeous but they wilt so quickly. I spent a long time finding realistic hydrangeas. Here are the ones I bought — Realistic Faux Hydrangeas.
The Trick to Make Faux Flowers Look Real
You might think that faux flowers are tacky, but they have come so far from the time when you grandma displayed fake flowers. Today’s faux flowers are more realistic. They even feel real. The trick to making faux flowers look real is bending the stems the way real flowers bend. I bent the head at different points on the stems and different angles so they weren’t all the same. The second trick to make faux flowers look real is adding water to the vase if it’s a see-through container.
Layer More Greenery
Once your centerpiece is on the table, like to layer items down the length of the table. I used a faux greenery garland and layered it down the center of the table.
Add Seasonal Elements
Now it the time to add seasonal elements. I added four moss bunnies that are all different sizes.
Layer Dishes
Now it’s time to add dishes. I layer several sized items at each place setting. I start with a placemat or charger. These wood flower chargers are perfect for Spring! Then I added a large dinner plate on top of the charger. Followed by a bright seasonal dessert plate on top! The napkin can be placed by the side of each plate, layered between the dinner and dessert plates or folded into a fun shape like these napkin bunnies!
Add Candlelight
I ALWAYS add candles. There’s something special about a candlelit dinner! I love the glow the candles give the whole table. You can use candles in votives like I did here or taller candlesticks make a gorgeous statement any time of the year!
So those are my tips to make creating a tablescape so easy any time of the year!
