SLAY Word of the Year: Free Motivational Printables
Do you pick a Word of the Year (OWL – one little word)? I’ve been doing it the past few years. I’m pretty lax on new years resolutions, but I have found that having a word to strive toward has been a good thing. Last year my word was Bright. And the year before it was Happy (that year ended up being the worst year of my life LOL). I was thinking of revisiting my Happy word and trying a do-over on that one. But I decided to go with SLAY. Before you get scared of the word, let me explain why I chose it. The past couple of years as I was going through my heartbreaking divorce and then an ensuing custody battle; I had to devote almost 100% of my emotional and physical effort into surviving, getting stronger and helping my kids. Last year we were able to move into a new home in a new city which was the best decision I have ever made. It was also a year of healing and getting us all back on track. Now that we are settled and happier and all going to counseling, I feel like I can focus again on some goals for myself.

So SLAY, to me, means going forward toward the future and meeting things head-on. Slaying my goals which means achieving them completely.

Plus I just like saying that word. SLAY feels empowering to me. And after years of feeling like I had no power, it represents taking my life back. So I made a few little printables with my word.
Just right-click on this link or on the image to download. The definition printable is for 8.5×11. And the Slay Every Single Day printable is 11×14.

I’m going with Daring. Too often I sit back and let things go by because they seem scary or unfamiliar, or I won’t be good at it, or it won’t be perfect. When I do try things out, I am always so glad. So this is the year to be daring.

Ha! Love this! My phrase for 2016 was Wake & Slay… which just might carry over into 2017. 😀
