Reevaluating Some Things and Some News!!

Hello my friends!
Some exciting things are happening in my little Tatertots world. I shared the fun blog hop that I am helping support. Please take a button and spread the word. There are some new sponsors and giveaways — click HERE for more details!
There is another really exciting event coming up on May 6th that is going to be so fun with tons of giveaways. I will be letting you know about that next week. (If you have a business of etsy shop and would like to sponsor a giveaway for it — shoot me an email and I will fill you in on the details!)
And the biggest thing is something that I have been working on since November. I will be revealing details on that May 10th!!
I am reevaluating the Weekend Wrap Up Party. I started it as a way to come and see your projects. I appreciate you following me and I want to support you in your projects.
  • I love highlighting your projects.
  • I love having giveaways and giving things to YOU.
  • I love supporting this blogging community, whether that is someone’s blog party or your giveaway.
  • I love to create and share my ideas. And sometimes they are flops, but I think that’s part of keeping it real in this blogging world. We are all trying our best.
I do come and see every project that is linked up. I was trying really hard to comment on each post and it truthfully was taking me 4-5 hours. I was staying up until 3 or 4 in the morning to get the comments done. I appreciate your comments on my blog and I really want to return the favor. If I keep the Wrap Up Party going, I will try to comment on each post, but I might have to hit some on some weeks and others the next.
I would love it if you would take this poll and let me know what YOU want. I blog as a creative outlet for myself, and to make friends. But I want to talk about things that YOU are interested in. I would love your POSITIVE feedback. Please be nice.
Thanks for all the great projects last week. It was so fun to see what you have been creating. I have spotlighted a few projects from the party already, but here are a couple more:
Love this sandal makeover @ Barefeet on the Dashboard
Camp out invitation
Campout Birthday Party @ Random Thoughts of a Supermom
Favorite Things Parties Every Friday!
Great information!
How to make a Blog Button @ A Few of my Favorite Things

Metal Top Table Redo @ Red Door Home

Decoupaged Edges Work Table @ Shared From Way Over Here
Thanks for being such great blogging friends. I really have made so many wonderful friendships through this fun world, and I look forward to getting to know you better!

The Cardigan Empire giveaway ends at midnight. Make sure to sign up to win –– it is a wonderful resource!
And the Crimson Clover Giveaway ends Sunday night — great Mother’s Day present!!!
TGIF!

Gosh I thought I couldn't keep up! haha! I love your party each week! Sometimes I'll link, but as you know with school I have not had too many extra hours to link up and create something for or in general. Count me in for the Summer for sure! I too visit everyone!

    Big hugs! xoxo

I can't wait to hear all of your fun news! Thanks so much for featuring me again:) And thanks so much for all the kind comments you leave on my blog! I think you should do whatever you feel comfortable with…if you aren't able to keep up with the linky every week, then cut it back to every other week or once a month. I think people understand, and they will link up whenever you have it available! I hope you have a great weekend.

everytime you have left a comment on my blog, i think to myself "i seriously dont know how that girl does it!"
I appreciate your comments very much, dont get me wrong, and you have given me a ton of exposure by highlighting a few of my projects, but you must never sleep and you would have to be "plugged in" all the time!
I dont know how you do it, just keeping up on my small blog is a lot of work – i couldnt even imagine doing what you do!!
This should be fun, so do what you need to do for you and your family – that is by far the most important.
Thats my humble little opinion anyways 🙂

3000 followers! How does that feel? congrads. Jen-jen, I appreciate you checking out my blog, but really you don't have to leave comments. Get your sleep and enjoy your family! You rock (like guns 'n' roses!)

So much exciting news! I can't wait to hear about some of your upcoming projects!

I love the link ups, but don't do anything creative to link up to. I do enjoy getting ideas from others though.

Jen! Wow, you are amazing. You read every entry?? That is way too much time! I love your linky party, and could link up every week. But maybe it's a good idea to do it once every two or once a month, to give yourself a break!! Love your blog, love your party…you just need to do what you feel!!

  12. Amanda @ Serenity Now says

    April 24, 2010 at 3:09 AM

As someone who recently spent two days to go through only 90+ links on a blog party I hosted, I can't imagine doing what you do on a weekly basis. You're such a generous and kind hostess- I don't think anyone would or could possibly expect you to visit every single link for a party with 100+ links. That's just crazy!

Maybe you could try it on an every other week or monthly basis for a month or two and see if you feel less stressed about it. Your blog should be fun for YOU too. 🙂

I agree with what the others have said~~I love linking up here, but its just crazy to think you're spending 3-4 hrs checking everyone's stuff. You've got to do what you've got to do, right? And if that's once a month, or every other week, than so be it. Where did I just read that bloggers don't owe anyone anything except to not intentionally mislead? True dat.

thank you so much for featuring me! i am so honored. i love your wrap party but i understand that it would be overwhelming. i voted for once a month because it could be a monthly wrap up party, where everyone posts their favorite project from that month. just an idea. you rock!

  15. Jaimie says

I understand how you're feeling. I like your linky parties, but they really are a lot to keep up with. You have a ton of talented and creative readers and even though soo many of their projects are so great, as a reader, it's a little hard to manage. I don't have the time, like you, to sit down and look at every single project, but I feel like I want to because they are all so great and innovative. Hope that helps love! No matter what you do, I'll keep reading your blog. : )

I love the Weekend Wrap Up because it lets me see some amazing projects that I wouldn't have found otherwise. I think it's great that you visit each link, but honestly, I wouldn't expect you to. There are usually tons of links and I can't imagine how long it takes you to visit all of them!

  17. Red Door Home says

    April 24, 2010 at 2:09 AM

With so many wonderful ideas I can understand why you would want to visit every link. I also understand how hard it must be to find the time. I have enjoyed your linky party and hope you will continue it in some form – maybe every other week or perhaps once a month.

Back again. I couldn't find your email and I wanted to contact you about the giveaway you mentioned. I started a boutique blog {button on my sidebar that takes you there} and wanted to see if you thought anything I have might work for your giveaway. I have more things I'll be putting up tomorrow, once I get some pictures taken during the day light hours. Thanks, Jen!

    April 24, 2010 at 1:14 AM

I don't think any linkers expect everyone to get a comment when there are so many participants. Please get some sleep so you have more energy to think up great projects 🙂

  22. Kathy @ Creative Home Expressions says

    April 24, 2010 at 1:07 AM

That's crazy, Jen! I voted and I'm happy to link things up monthly. I would have voted for "there are too many linky parties", but there's nothing saying I have to link up to them, right? It just seems they all fall on the same day or date. I find lots of new bloggers and their projects through the linky parties, but then we all seem to link up to the same ones, too.

  23. Infarrantly Creative says

    April 24, 2010 at 1:04 AM

I can't imagine the work that goes into a weekly link up party. Wow…my two cents is I would rather see your brilliant ideas. So if it takes away from that then nix it or do it less frequent. 🙂

I totally understand, Jen! I love your party so much, but I know it must require so much work for you to do all the features, and all the personal, very sweet comments that you make. So, do what is best for you & your family! In the end, that's what it's all about. Re-evaluating is probably necessary with growth I would imagine. 🙂 Have a wonderful weekend, and don't worry about replying to me. lol.

    Blessings!

I love your blog, but you also have to have a life! In the beginning I tried to read and comment on every posting of every blog I followed…I found that I didn't have time for anything else. Now, I do the best I can…and that is all any of us can do.
