We’ve combined the popular parties at I Heart Nap Time, Lil’ Luna, Somewhat Simple, Tatertots & Jello and Today’s Creative Blog to make a giant link party. You’ll only have to link up once to to be listed on all five sites, and each of us will choose our own projects to feature posts — just like we always have!

So be sure to check with each site to see which of the amazing ideas were featured! I’ll have two “great ideas” posts this weekend!

This week’s giveaway is a “New Year, New You” pack using
Young Living Essential Oils (an over $55 value)!

Last week I introduced my “New Year, New You” series of articles, and talked about the challenges of keeping my weight where I like it.

04-

 (This week, I talked about some tips for getting started with running – even when you don’t like it! Don’t miss it – and the great reader ideas in the comments!)

In the last few months, I’ve found that essential oils have helped me keep my appetite under control and balance my energy better.

{And last week’s giveaway was so popular I’m doing it again!! Woo-hoo!}

This week’s essential oil recipe

This week I’ve been experimenting with some essential oils “recipes” in my little desktop diffuser to find what I like best. I found a combination I liked that is supposed to help with seasonal wellness – both physical and mental. I’ve kept it happily diffusing on my desk the last few days and I’ve noticed better mental clarity and ability to focus … but of course your results will vary!

Here’s my “winter wellness” recipe:

3 drops lemon essential oil

3 drops peppermint essential oil

2 drops lavender essential oil

* * * * *

 Today I’m giving one lucky reader a hand-picked pack of “New Year, New You” oils to kick-start the best you!

I’ll show you what’s in the prize pack (a $55 value), some highlights from this week, space for you to add YOUR great ideas … and show you how you can enter to win:

Essential oils are super pure and super concentrated. They’re “essential” because they contain the “essence” of the plants from which they’re made — making them valuable aids in keeping our bodies, minds and spirits healthy.

I’m just scratching the surface with my essential oils exploration, but I wanted to share with you — and give away to one lucky winner — two of my favorites, Slique Essence and Grapefruit.

Slique Essence blends grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, spearmint, and ocotea with stevia extract in a unique blend to support healthy weight management goals. I put 4-6 drops in a 16-oz water bottle a couple of times a day — easy! I feel fewer cravings, more energy and overall more balanced.

I love the fresh, citrusy aroma of Grapefruit! You can add it to water, of course, but I like to diffuse it a few times a day into the air. You can use an essential oil diffuser or just add a few drops to a small pot of simmering water on the stove. (Keep an eye on it!)

I love essential oils, and I love using them in my home!

There are lots of places you can buy essential oils, but I really love how a local company, Young Living Essential Oils, is a trusted source and a pioneer in bringing the use of therapeutic oils to the United States.

Here’s a special deal for January to help YOU start the new year with a new you!

    I want an essential oil diffuser that is easy to use and clean. Not noisy. I want to be able to really smell the oils and get benefit from it but I don’t need it to be overpowering either as I may not use it then. I get migraines so sometimes smells are hard to take. I don’t want to spend a lot of money either. I’m thrifty. Could you guys suggest the top choice matching what I’m looking for?

    I LOVE essential oils for healthcare! In fact,I stayed home sick from work today and I made me a capsule with a couple of oils in it and his nausea/vomiting ceased very quickly. I also went to the doctor this morning for a follow up on labs and am now able to stop taking my cholesterol medication thanks to the essential oil regimen I have been on. I personally use peppermint essential oils and love them due to the high quality and their potent special blends. Thank you so much for covering this topic! I just recently got some jojoba oil and decided to make a few roller bottles of jojoba and essential oils. it is so much easier to apply thieves to my spine and bottom of my feet to help protect me during the cold and flu season.

    I’ve only ever used lavender oil for sugar scrubs and to help me sleep. I’d love to win and use the oils offered.

    I do use essential oils but I am still a newbie! My only tip is that if you want to try oils, or have even an inkling about them….DO IT, you’ll be addicted in no time! (:

    Try Frankincense on the bottom of your feet in the morning for a cleansing boost to your day.
