Guest Project: 20-Minute Gift Idea!

I am a mom, wife, decorater, crafter, TV going, thrift shopping sassy girl.
I am pretty sure that I have a sickness when it comes to spray painting and drinking Diet Coke.
I LOVE THEM!!!

I would spray paint anything that didn’t move.
Really, I would.

I sprayed plastic chairs and they turned better than fabulous!
I also sprayed my front door and shutters and all of my outdoor lights.
I couldn’t believe the difference! You all should do it!
If you want to know how I did it or watch me talk about how I did on TV-click here.

I also love using fabric in strange and unusual ways.
I CAN’T sew-I wish that I could.
Truth be told, I can’t even turn on the machine.
So, I use it in ways that make me happy.
With my glue gun!
I used fabric to make these frames.

You can read about it here

I also used fabric to sass up these books!

You have got to try this!!

I also love to reuse things in different ways.
Like here and here.

I love to decorate and blog about the crap that I come up with-but sometimes I just need to vent and put all of it out there for all ya’ll to read.
I did this here
I can’t tell you how fabulous of a response I got from people!
The kind words and love from these fabulous women, really impacted my life for good.

I am sharing some before and afters of my 5’s bedroom over at my blog-Sassy Style
I am so embarrased to even show the before’s. But..I figure I can’t be the only woman out there who has a piglet for a daughter.
And  yes, I am so placing ALL of the blame on her!
I am such an awesome mom!!

So, I am going to share a tutorial with you.
Truth be told-it’s so simple-it’s probably not really even considered a tutorial.
But… I was in a rush tonight to get a gift wrapped in a fun, not boring way.
I know that we all have all been here before.
I had 20 mins!
I always work best under pressure.
So, this is what I started with.

A plate and a candle holder.
This is what I needed to wrap.
So, I used this
Now, if you have never used this before-you have got to go out and get you some!
It is the best epoxy I have ever used!
It stinks-but it is the quickest, storngest hold out there.
and it ended up looking like this.

So, I understand that the finished product is kind of hard to tell because of cello-I hope it’s ok.

I LOVE tulle! I used a lot of it on this.
I say go big or go home-espescially true when it comes to bows!!!
I also used some ribbon scraps that I had around and a flower that I made with seam binding.
Again, So not the best pic. but I am hoping that you get the idea.
It presented beautifully! It looked like it was so much more than some
chocolate covered cherried and a coke!!
The receipant was thrilled, and so was I!
Best thing I made in under 20 mins in a long time!
So, the next time that you are crunched for time-and need a quick gift-think outside the box when it comes to the packaging! You will be so happy that you did!
Thanks again Jen!
I had a fabulous time!
Please, come and visit often!
Have a Sassy Day!!

Thanks Tausha! I love Tausha so much. We met a couple of weeks ago for the first time and spent the afternoon having lunch and thrifting. She is so much fun and has great ideas!
Here’s a button for sharing your tutorial with us!
Have a Fantastic Friday!
PS – the Weekend Wrap Up starts tonight — I will try to get the link up early — maybe by 8?
XOXO

Love this! What a cute way to make a raised serving dish! Can you have too much tulle? I argue that you cannot! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing. Spoons are great! Also using fun fabrics is an awesome way to spice up something hum-drum. Thanks for sharing and sending that reminder! Gotta go fire up the glue gun now! 🙂

So cute! I love to package things up with bows and ribbons. I think the gift inside seems so much more special when it is wrapped well:) Thanks for sharing with us!
