Colorful and Bright Spring Home Tour. Easy and inexpensive DIY ideas to bring COLOR into your home this Spring.
The sun is shining today and I am SO excited to share some easy ways to bring COLOR into your home for Spring! I am thrilled to be joining in with Krista @TheHappyHousie and 30+ other creatives to share our Spring home decorating ideas in the #SeasonalSimplicity series. Be sure to hop over and see all of their Spring ideas!!
I love decorating our home for the seasons. I have combined my love of Spring and Easter in a few areas in our home. Come on in!
Colorful Happy Spring Porch
This is our porch. I have added a few DIY elements to create a warm and friendly first impression. I will be sharing the complete Spring Porch tutorial in a separate post that will have all of the instructions on how to make these elements. I created a carrot wreath, carrot garlands over the door, layered a couple rugs and made a DIY giant carrot sign as well as made a couple of orange and white gingham pillows.
The carrot garlands are so easy to make. The bigger garland was one that I found at Hobby Lobby. The gingham carrot garland are carrots that I also found at Hobby Lobby and I hot glued them onto white twine.
An Easy Spring Centerpiece
When you first step into our home you will see our dining room on the right. I created a little Easter vignette with fresh flowers. I bought some chocolate Easter bunnies and unwrapped them and created a little grouping in front of the baskets. I also added a couple faux flower branches.
If you didn’t want to use fresh flowers, you could use faux flowers in the vases and then you have an arrangement that can be used every year!
Turning a Formal Living Room into a Creative Office
On the other side of the front door is my office/creative space! I turned the formal living room into my office and I love it! I am able to sit at my desk and look out onto our front year while I work. I keep all of my creative supplies in my Dream Box, from the Original Scrapbook Company. It’s kind of a room within a room and really such a wonderful concept. I have young adult children who have moved back in with my after college. So I had to give up my craft room.
All of my supplies were put in boxes and it was so hard to find items when I was doing projects. Now I keep everything in my Dream Box. It folds up into a cabinet but it also unfolds into shelves that hold all of my supplies. It also has a desk that folds out and it can be adjusted into three different heights. So I can sit and sew, or stand and make projects at counter height. I use it everyday. And because I can fold it up, my front room office looks neat and tidy at night after I am done working.
You can find out more about it through The Original Scrapbox’s page. And you can use my code TATERTOTS for $100 off ANY of their products!
To bring Spring into my office I added some fresh flowers on my desk and they make me so happy!
Carrot and Plaid Spring Mantel
We have an open concept family room/kitchen and I love decorating our mantel for Spring. This year I have gone with a carrot/plaid theme! I layered some cute signs from my friend Laura at The Handmade Sign Company. Along with a giant carrot sign and a little child’s chair that I found at a vintage store. I made more carrot garlands too!
Kitchen Spring Elements
In the kitchen I created a little centerpiece with one of the painted houses I shared a few weeks ago. I love this little bunny dishtowel.
Decorate a Farmhouse Kitchen Nook for Spring
Another space I love decorating are the floating shelves in our kitchen nook! I added a few Easter elements here as well. And fresh tulips are so pretty!
In our bedroom I added a few navy and white pillows to our bed. I love nautical colors for Spring!
