My friend and neighbor makes the most amazing Peanut Butter Cookies. And for Halloween she dips the wings in chocolate and sprinkles. They are delightful! And I was so thrilled when she agreed to share the recipe with us.

One thing I love about these cookies is that you can shape them into any type of shape for any holiday or occasion. They are delicious! Here’s the recipe:

THE Best Basic Peanut Butter Cookie Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoon baking soda (Note: when cutting this dough with cookie cutters only use 1tsp. baking soda. This will help the cookies retain more of their shape.)
  • 2 ¾ cups flour or until dough pulls away from edges

Instructions

  1. Cream everything together except the flour, then add flour to mixture until well combined.
  2. Roll out dough; cut out shapes.
  3. Bake for 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees.
  4. Note: this dough can be made into balls and rolled in sugar too. Press with fork.

Too busy to run to the store? You can order some of this online!

For the eyes, I used Cake Mate Chocolate Decorating Decors (the 10.5 oz size).

For the bat cookie cutter, I used the Flying Bat Cookie Cutter

For dark chocolate melting apeels, I used these Guittard Dark Chocolate Melting Apeels

For the Craft Food Boxes, I used these Bio-Plus Earth Containers, but you may not need 160 of them … unless you plan to use a LOT!

Bake up a batch for your Halloween party this year!!

Have a Yummy Day!

xoxo

Does the dough need to be refrigerated before rolling and cutting out shapes? So many similar recipes for this type of cookie do. Just wondering. I’m not much of a baker! Thanks!

I love sharing recipes with neighbors, it just feels so neighborly. And these bat cookies are marvelous, especially the sprinkles bit. They are too cute, would be fun to make for my neighbors and the 20 plus kids who lives on my street =)
