Always Dream in Gold Oscar Glitter Invitation and Printables

The Oscars are coming up soon! It’s one of my favorite programs I watch each year. I love watching movies and I love seeing which movies are nominated as well as which ones win each year. My favorite part of the Oscars is seeing all of the beautiful gowns. Seeing the beautiful people and debating with my kids and friends which one is the most beautiful, unusual, daring, etc. I look forward to it. This year I can’t wait to host an Oscar party at our new home. So when Michael’s asked me to come up with an Oscar idea – I was already thinking about invitation ideas. The theme of the Oscars this year is GOLD – so I created a printable featuring a gold saying and I embellished it with gold and glitter!

The main colors of my invitations are black and gold. They contrast so well. I love the glitter against the pure black of the invitations and envelopes. I created a background of glitter printed on the invitations.

But to make things ever more special I added big, chunky glitter to the printable. I LOVE this round glitter. So pretty!!

All you need to do to make glittery invitations is — print off the Oscar Invitations, cut them out, then put a line of glue around the edge of each invitation and then pour the glitter on top of the wet glue. Then tap off the excess glitter and let the glue dry.

I used a simple gel pen from Michaels to hand-write the information on the invitations. I left a little extra room at the bottom of the invitations in case you want to add any extra instructions – like if your party is black tie, or if you want people to bring specific food to your party.

While the invitations are drying you can add a line of glitter to the back of the envelopes if you want. I also used the gold gel pen to write the address information on the front of each envelope. SO pretty!!

I plan to have an entire party theme in GOLD. Aren’t those gold polka dotted party bags the cutest!! I am deciding what to fill them with and I will have a post with some Oscar favors too!! I also love the gold ball drink stirrers. So fun!
