A Blogger’s Day Out!

A few weeks ago I was able to go visit something wonderful that is being built in Salt Lake City. The new Museum of Natural History. And wow – is it going to be wonderful! I was able to go with a group of fun bloggers and we were so lucky to have a full tour of the entire site! It is really going to be such a gem in the community!
The main floor of the building is going to have a wide patio area which overlooks the Shoreline Trail which runs through the property. There is going to be a cafe that goes out to the terrace, and that will be an awesome place to relax and enjoy the breathtaking views.  The entire first floor will be open to the public free of charge.
There are so many great spaces inside the facility. There will be wonderful display areas, teaching spaces and interactive exhibits. On the top of the building there is a huge roof area with majestic views of the entire valley. So beautiful!!
The building is still under construction, but is slated to be open one year from now — in the Fall of 2011.
Afterward, we all went to lunch at my favorite restaurant — Corner Cafe and Bakery!!! Have you ever been to Corner Cafe? It’s a completely delicious chain of restaurants {I think they have locations in about 13 states}. Our family discovered them about 2 months ago and now it’s the place that my kids beg to go. I was thrilled when I heard we were going there.
Thank you to the Corner Cafe — Red Butte location for such a wonderful lunch. They have a fabulous patio where we were able to sit and visit. It was wonderful. And if you’ve never been there, you really need to try the Tomato Mozzarella on Ciabatta Ficelle –
A vegetarian delight. Plum tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, sweet roasted red peppers, and fresh basil drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette.

Heavenly!!!
It was so nice to get out and meet new friends!!
