I’m excited to decorate for the holidays! So when Big Lots asked me to participate in the #BIGHoliday challenge to give a holiday makeover to a room in my house, I was SO excited.
November 16-22 is National Decorate Your Home for the Holidays week, and it’s designed to encourage everyone to plan early, decorate and de-stress in time to spread holiday cheer. I love this idea!!
Hannah and I had such a FUN time perusing our local Big Lots and planning out our room makeover!

Hannah and I had a BLAST checking out everything in the store and deciding on a theme for our room. We are SO excited about it!!

I have scaled back my Halloween decor to where it is just a few pieces I can put out in 15 minutes and put up just as quickly on November 1st.
People wail and grumble over the prospect of decorating for Christmas so soon, but I decorate for Fall in August and Thanksgiving isn’t until November. I do wintery seasonal decorations throughout November, slowly replacing Autumn with winter when I have time to do quick 15 minute jobs like the mantel or door swags, and I leave the blatant Christmas stuff, like trees, for after Thanksgiving. If it makes me feel good and fits better into my schedule, as Big Lots is smartly suggesting, go for it!
