You’ll love this Washi Tape Egg Spring Wreath!
I adore washi tape!
It’s so bright and colorful AND there are so many things you can make with it!!
I thought it might be fun to make a Washi Tape Spring Wreath.
You can buy all-white plastic eggs. I found mine at Hobby Lobby. They were less than 60 cents per bag of 12. But, if you have some left-over colored eggs, you spray paint those white.
Here’s what I did:
- I took a wreath form and wrapped it with some bright pink ribbon.
- Then I wrapped the eggs with the washi tape. The trick to smooth tape on the eggs, is to start at the base of the egg, then pull the tape taut as you wrap it around the egg. Once it is wrapped, smooth the tape with your fingers. If there are still wrinkles, use your nails to smooth out the wrinkles.
- Then all you do is hot glue the eggs onto the wreath form.
- The last thing I did was added a little pinwheels and some ribbon to the front.
I love seeing all of the different colors and patterns in the washi tape.
If you are wondering where to buy washi tape — Here’s are some of my favorite places:

Love this! So bright and fun! I’m always envious of people’s “wreath creativity.” You should see the lame thing I have hanging on my front door right now… one day I will get my act together and pretty up my front door!

Thanks for sharing. The amount of ribbon, and size of form?
Jen says
Hi Darla!!
I think the wreath form was 12 inches in diameter and I used a couple yards of each of the ribbon. You can buy the ribbon at your craft store on spools. So just bu 2-3 spools of coordinating ribbon 🙂

How absolutely ADORABLE!! You are welcome to link this up at my turquoise lovin’ party!! 🙂 I also had a question if you have a chance to get back to me…I was wondering if you know of any cool places to get unique scrapbook paper…I’ve been looking everywhere and can’t find things like chevron or the fun new patterns that are out there. Do you have to print the digital ones to get those? Would appreciate any feedback you can give me on this…thanks!! HUGS….love your site!
Jen says
Hi Sara!! There are some great scrapbook papers out there. Some of my favorites are Elizabeth Kartchner’s Dear Lizzy Line through American Crafts, Canvas Corp has a great line of chevron papers, Basic Grey has beautiful papers too and Heidi Swapp also has wonderful paper and chevrons. It’s hard to find them in stores, but you can order them online and I think it’s worth the hassle.

Carmel Keane says
Any idea how many eggs you used? They are not that cheap in NZ and would like to see if this is economical – ‘cos I LOVE it!
Jen says
I think there is about 40 eggs on it. I bought my eggs at Hobby Lobby. They were like 80 cents a package of 12 but then an additional 40% off last week. They are probably still on sale I would bet.
xoxo
Jen says
I take that back. I just counted them and there are 60 eggs. But if you used a smaller wreath form you could use less eggs too. And you can buy wreath forms at The Dollar Store. That will save you money too 🙂

writing a blog post or vice-versa? My blog goes over a lot of the same subjects as yours and I believe we could greatly benefit from each other.
If you are interested feel free to shoot me an email. I look forward to hearing from you!

Never heard where to get washi tape or to use it?? Thank you. all these Easter ideas are super/delicious. What size tape do you suggest?
Jen says
Hi Susan!!
If you are going totry wrapping eggs with washi tape, I recommend using thin washi tape. It’s easier to wrap a circular object with thinner tape 🙂

blackwhite says
Cool ideas! What sources do you recommend as reliable/reasonable for washi tape?
Danee says
This is super cute. I am not usually a “bold and bright” girl but this wreath on your aqua door is playful and fun. I’d like to know where you find your Washi tape or I guess your favorite source. I can’t seem to find a source that has a large amount of colors I like.
Jen says
Hi Danee!!
I got my washi tape through Cute Tape -http://www.cutetape.com/shop/. You can get 3 rolls for between $4 – $8. The rolls last forever. I’ve been using the same rolls on about 15 projects this year and they are still at least half way full. If you search etsy, tons of shops will come up 🙂

Ack, now I must try this washi tape! Where do you find it? With my craft room still packed away, I haven’t been inside a craft store in months! Well, except Hobby Lobby, but that was only a quick trip for spray paint.

I think the easiest way to get washi tape is online. There are TONS of patterns. Just check etsy. I have a link to the shop I got mine through in the post too 🙂
