Hi Tatertots & Jello friends! It’s Melissa from No. 2 Pencil, and today I’m sharing a delicious protein packed smoothie that you and your kiddos are going to love! We are gearing up for back to school, and smoothies are so popular in our house. We make smoothies for after school snacks or even a quick breakfast.

Chunky Monkey Protein Smoothie – A Great After School Snack or Quick Breakfast!
Recipe Type: Snack
Cuisine: Chunky Monkey Protein Smoothie
Author: Jennifer Hadfield
In this smoothie, I use ripe bananas, peanut butter, and greek yogurt. I also use a little bit of cocoa powder because I just love chocolate with peanut butter and bananas! This smoothie is so delicious. It even hits the spot when I get a craving for a milkshake or frozen blended coffee drink.
Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups of ice
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup of plain greek yogurt
  • 1 cup of skim milk
  • 4 tablespoons of peanut butter – chunky or smooth
  • 1 tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1-2 teaspoons of sugar – depending on sweetness of bananas
Instructions
  1. Add all ingredients and blend until smooth.

This is such a fun smoothie recipe, and a little change from traditional fruit smoothies. You can play around with this recipe and use what you have on hand. We often substitute vanilla or banana yogurt.
