Five-Ingredient Chocolate Lava Cake Recipe!

Good morning Tatertots and Jello readers! It feels like it has been forever since I’ve been here since the holidays were so busy! But today I’m back and I have a de-li-cious recipe for you.

This is one of my all time favorite recipes to make when we have guests over because it is so good and super easy.

These chocolate lava cakes only have five ingredients in them and they are normal, everyday ingredients that you probably already have in your fridge and pantry!

Chocolate Lava Cakes
makes 4

Ingredients
6 squares Baker’s Semi-Sweet Baking Chocolate
3/4 cup butter
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar–sifted
3 eggs
3 egg yolks
9 Tbsp. flour

  • Step 1: Melt the chocolate and butter in the microwave for 1 min. Stir with a fork, or a whisk, then continue to microwave for 30 seconds at a time, until the chocolate is melted.

  • Step 2: Once the chocolate and butter are completely melted add the sifted powdered sugar and mix thoroughly.

  • Step 3: Add the eggs and egg yolks to the mixture. Mix well.

  • Step 4: Add flour and mix well.

  • Step 5: Once all the ingredients have been mixed together, divide the batter between 4 greased baking ramekins. Bake at 425 degrees for 12 to 14 minutes.

  • Step 6: Let the cakes cool for a few minutes and then remove them from the baking dishes and top them with powdered sugar, whipped cream, ice cream or any other delicious topping you can think of!

I promise, these chocolate lava cakes taste even better than they look and your guests will be so impressed with how decadent they taste! I promise not to tell them how easy they are, if you promise to keep it a secret too! {wink} Enjoy!!!

Chocolate has been consumed since as far back as
the earliest recorded history. We should have the ability to forgive
others and also should respect other’s feelings and emotions.
I have discovered the keurig Mini Brewer to be somewhat of an energy guzzler.

Saw your recipe and had to make it…….a total PASS from all boys (and me)! Didn’t have ramekins, so just used 3 various sized mixing bowls I had. They still turned out great! Thanks for the awesome recipe!!

LAVA CAKE! Just the sound of it is delicious especially for me; a cake lover. Your post looks tempting. Actually I am already craving for a lava cake now. Lava cake is something new to me and I’m pretty sure if I bake this cake, I could surprise my family and friends. I like the lava filling and that is actually the first thing that popped on my mind when I read lava cake and even before I looked at the picture. Thank you for the recipe! I will try it for sure.

I’ve made these from a William-Sonoma kit, but I’ve never done it from scratch. I never thought of them being this easy. I’m saving this one!
