The Secret Life of Pets 5-Minute Gidget Cakes
My kids range in age from early 20’s to 11 so finding movies we can all watch together and enjoy can be a challenge. One movie we watched and loved together this year is The Secret Life of Pets. Have you seen it? Have you ever wondered what your pets do when you’re not home? The Secret Life of Pets follows a cute dog named Max and his adventures.
To celebrate the release of The Secret Life of Pets on DVD and BlueRay, December 6th, we teamed up with Universal Pictures Home Entertainment and created a Secret Life of Pets viewing party. We invited some friends and of course there was food, including SUPER easy 5-minute Gidget mini cakes based on our favorite Secret Life of Pets character, Gidget! Gidget is a feisty and fluffy Pomeranian neighbor who has a crush on Max and helps save him in the movie.

Comedy superstars Louis C.K., Eric Stonestreet, and Kevin Hart make their animated feature-film debut that finally answers the question: what do your pets do when you’re not home? When their owners leave for the day, pets from the building gossip with their friends, satisfy their sweet tooths, and throw outrageous parties. But when a pampered terrier (C.K.) and his unruly new “roommate” from the pound (Stonestreet) get lost in the urban jungle of New York City, they must put aside their differences to survive the epic journey back home.
The BlueRay and DVD is out December 6th! It also includes 3 new mini movies.

I made some SUPER easy 5-minute Gidget cakes. You really can make these in 5 minutes. Here’s how:
Ingredients:
Hostess Snowball cakes (2 to a package)
Edible Googly Eyes
Pink Frosting
Ribbon (optional)
The Secret Life of Pets 5-Minute Gidget Cakes
The Secret Life of Pets 5-Minute Gidget Cakes Directions:
- Put googly eyes on the Snowball cakes with frosting.
- Make a bow at the top of each cake with the pink frosting.
- Add a bow to each cake if you want.
- Eat!
