I am SUPER excited to be posting at Tatertots and Jello today! Jen is such a crafty inspiration, so it is a little intimidating to post one of my projects after all the great things she has shared about. But, I knew that I had to attempt something made out of burlap. I also wanted something for my yard, because the grass here is finally starting to turn green! So I came up with a Monogrammed Burlap Garden Flag that is SUPER easy and SUPER inexpensive to make.
XOXO

Oh wow, LOVE it!! Garden flags are cute but I’ve never really found one in “my style”. Duh – I should make my own!
Thanks for sharing!

Also, how do you keep the edges from fraying around the loop?? I’m not concerned about the sides b/c of the ribbon, but my loop is frayed. It actually looks kind of cool but was wondering your secret. 🙂 Thanks!
Kristen says
This is so cute!! Quick question– I know you said you doubled up the length of the burlap. What about the width? Did you just keep it the same as the size flag you wanted (12.5 in)? Thanks!

So pretty! I have one of these mini flag holders, but I've never put it our because most of the flags are so cheesy. This is a great idea to make something a little more unique and classy for the yard. Love it!
Does anyone know how it hold up in bad weather?

Oh that is cute and made without a sewing machine. That is totally up my ally since my sewing machine is in the shop.
I did not know they made Mod Podge Outdoors. That stuff is wonderful.

OH MY!!! I am squirming in my chair!!! I LOVE this project. I have so wanted one of those gorgeous, elegant monogramed garden flags for my front walk. But, quite honestly, I'm super-cheap, and didn't want to pay the sticker price.
I am so making this project! Thanks a ton for sharing here, Kelli. And thanks to you, Jen. I can't wait to check out more of your blog, Kelli.
With a big satisfied smile,
Carla
