Guest Project — Make a Charming Fruit Tray

There are so many great fruits in season at the grocery store, the farmers market, and at roadside stands right now. It’s the perfect time to put them all together into a yummy fruit tray. You can to take it to barbecues and parties or just have out on your counter for snacking. And if you’re going to put in the effort you might as well make it look pretty too.

Wash and dry a head of leafy green lettuce and cut off the bottom part. Cover the base of a large serving tray with the lettuce, layering and covering every bit of the tray.

Pick a rainbow of colored fruit–it will look better and give you more variety. Cut the big fruits into bite sized pieces. Cut the grapes into small clusters of 4 or 5 grapes. I like to leave the stem on the strawberries (or cherries if I’m using those).

Avoid putting two fruits of the same color next to each other. For even more color try sprinkling some small berries on the top, like raspberries and blueberries.

Then serve to your guests for everyone to enjoy.

I’d like to introduce you to Brittany from One Charming Party. I don’t know about you, I can whip up a wreath no problem — but the thought of planning an entire birthday party makes me break out in a cold sweat!

I love your blog! I tried this fruit tray and although it didn't have the WOW factor that One Charming party did, it did look appetizing, I got a ton of comments and it tasted delish! I blogged about it here…
