I find St. Patrick’s Day a little calmer than some other holidays.
I have a little more time to make a treat and show appreciation to neighbors and friends. I am “LUCKY” to know some great people. Here is a simple way to thank friends who have made a difference in my life and in my kids’ lives.
Today I’m sharing both a delicious sugar cookie recipe (and icing recipe) — and a free St. Patrick’s Day printable for your friends, neighbors and loved ones!
Inspired by this quote,
A Friend is a treasure, more precious than Gold. For love shared is priceless, and never grows old. -Unknown
I’ve put together this fun gift idea. These sugar cookies are a favorite. The charger plates were on sale at Michaels for less than $2.
And here are the recipes!
Amy Dott’s Favorite Sugar Cookie Recipe
2 cups of butter
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
(Tip: If you do not want the cookie shapes you cut out to puff up and lose their shape, leave the soda out)
3 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
¼ teaspoon salt
6 cups of flour or until the dough pulls away from the edges
Crème together.
Sometimes I roll the dough our after spraying pam on the counter top and cut out whatever cookie cutter shape I want to or, if I am in a hurry, I just use a cookie scoop.
Bake at 370 degrees 8-10 minutes
Amy Dott’s Cream Cheese Frosting
1 cup butter
1 package of cream cheese
1 teaspoon vanilla
add powdered sugar until you have the consistency you want.
And here are the printables!
Just right-click this link or the image below and choose “save as” to download the printable PDF (it’s a big one). As always, it’s for personal use only.
Top o’ the day to ya!
xoxo

These are so cute! I love the printable. Just sending these out to friends would be lovely if I can’t get around to baking cookies.
