I'd take the girls to the American Girl Doll store and then take everyone to Dylan's candy bar. Those are good for a little touristy girly fun! If you can want something more unique, go thrifting in SoHo. Screaming Mimi's is always a lot of fun!

I lived in New York for awhile and one of my favorite things was broadway. You should totally see wicked it was by far my favorite, and my husband liked it too, so its something for everyone. The tickets are a little pricey but there is a ticket booth in time square that have discount tickets for the that day broadway shows. Enjoy New York!

Yay East Coast. 😉 You are going to love NYC!!! I honestly wouldn't mess with going up in the Empire State Building b/c the lines can be HORRENDOUSLY long. You can gets lots of good shots of it just walking around. Just take a stroll through Central Park…it's beautiful!!

    *Tiffany and Co. ('nuff said)
*Canal Street in Chinatown is the best stop for knock-offs…not that I would know or anything
*Take the subway everywhere…only like $7.50 for a Fun Pass and you can ride as much as you want all day
*Greenwich Village, just to walk around, so cool
*Don't eat anywhere touristy—choose little off the wall places that you just happen upon…it's so much more fun!
*Times Square is so touristy, but the kids will love it, esp. Toys R Us, which has a ferris wheel inside

PS. Finished Catching Fire today and LOVED it!!! Have to ask you, are you a Peeta fan or a Gale fan???? 😉

    Such a fun trip!

I've been to NYC four times and NEVER been to Central Park – so will you go there for me??? Next time I go, it is a MUST!

Definitely recommend Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, of course Times Square, and a Broadway show . . . or two . . . or three 🙂

And you should definitely at least walk by the temple, or will you be there on Sunday so you can go to church there? It's in a high-rise and the church and temple are in the same building, just on different floors. It's pretty cool 🙂

We live in Rhode Island and Boston is our favorite place and Mike's is the best. Glad you had a nice time. Haven't been to NYC in years, but someone from my work recommends Dylan's Candy Store (Dylan is Ralph Lauren's daughter), Toys R Us and Macy's. My daughter would want you to go to Tiffany's on 5th Ave. Then she could shop vicariously through you!! She went to that one and loved it.
    Have a wonderful time,
    Karen

I wish I could visit Boston. So NYC? hmm?

Try a hot dog at Gray's Papaya.

Walk around Time Square, at night, of course.

Take the kids to F.A.O. Schwartz (5th Avenue, and the Museum of Natural History (Park Avenue).

Skip the Staten Island Ferry, and go see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. You won't be disappointed.

Eat a canolli with your hands, not a fork. lol.

Have a great time in NYC. I miss it there.

I live in Boston and love it too! Suggestions for NYC: the Tenement Museum, walking across the Brooklyn Bridge, pizza at Grimaldi's, dessert at Cafe Lalo (where Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan met in "You've Got Mail"), cupcakes at Butter Lane, riding the carousel in Central Park, Dylan's Candy Shop, and riding the Staten Island Ferry. Have fun!! I love NYC too!
