I partnered with Hobby Lobby to share some fun ways to throw a game day party for your friends and family! #ad
Easy DIY Game Day Party Ideas. Hobby Lobby’s new Football Party section has everything you need to throw an easy and festive party, from DIY decorations to stylish serving ideas!
Y’all! I couldn’t be more excited to huddle up with my friends at Hobby Lobby to celebrate their BRAND NEW game day section! They’ve thought of everything—platters, cups, banners, signs, napkins, bowls, and more—so you can throw a winning party without breaking a sweat. It’s your one-stop shop for turning any game day into a championship-worthy celebration!
Create a Football-Field Table
One of the easiest ways to set the scene for your game day party is to transform your table into a football field! Here’s how you can do it with just a few simple supplies:
- Green Tablecloth – Lay down a green tablecloth as the base.
- White Art Tape – Use white duct tape to create yard lines across the tablecloth to resemble a football field.
- Striped Runner – I layered a black and white striped runner over the top for contrast and a fun, sporty touch.
- Matching Decor – I found black and white straws at Hobby Lobby that coordinated perfectly with the runner.
This easy setup makes your food table a festive focal point and ties the whole theme together effortlessly!
DIY Friendship Bracelet Game Day Garland
Friendship bracelets are so trendy right now, and they make a great addition to your game day decor. In Hobby Lobby’s party section, I found a friendship bracelet birthday garland kit, which I easily transformed into a football game day friendship bracelet garland. Here’s how:
- Pick up a packet of large black letters from the scrapbook section.
- Add the letters to the white balloons in the kit to spell out fun game day words like “GO TEAM!”, “TOUCHDOWN!” or “GAME DAY”.
- Incorporate green balloons to match the football-themed table and party platters.
This DIY garland is a great way to bring in some color and personality while embracing the friendship bracelet trend!
Festive Bow Garland
Bows are another trendy and easy way to add some charm to your football game day setup. I found $.99 green and white bows at Hobby Lobby, and they were perfect for making a simple bow garland. Here’s how I made it:
- I glued the edges of the bows together with hot glue to create a seamless garland.
- Then, I added twine loops at the ends of the garland for easy hanging.
- To finish it off, I tied festive ribbon at the ends of the garland. Hobby Lobby is my favorite place to buy ribbon, and the football ribbon is perfect!
It’s such an affordable and easy way to add a touch of cheer to your decor!
Elevated Game Day Food Display
Great food is a must at any game day party, and I found some big platters and bowls in Hobby Lobby’s game day section that were perfect for displaying everything in a stylish and functional way. To create an elevated look:
- Stack round platters over matching bowls to create raised serving trays. This trick adds height to your food display and makes everything look even more delicious!
- Use football-shaped party platters (also found in Hobby Lobby’s game day section) for serving classic game day snacks like chips and salsa.
- Add themed party picks and napkins to bring the whole look together. I created some easy football party picks by adding football stickers to toothpicks. And these football-themed paper chains are the perfect table decor. so easy!!
- I also used a Scrolled Chalkboard Sign to write “Game Day” with chalkboard markers!
Easy Game Day Food Ideas
No party is complete without delicious food, so I put together a few fun and easy game day treats:
Friendship Bracelet Donuts – Grab a variety of colorful donuts and arrange them in stacks to resemble friendship bracelets. ! I found the food-safe black pens in Hobby Lobby’s cake decorating section. Just draw letters on round candies to spell out football words and add sprinkles. So easy!
Sweet and Spicy Meatballs – A crowd favorite! Use a mix of spicy hot sauce and jelly for the perfect balance of sweet and spicy
Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Footballs – Dip strawberries in melted chocolate and use white icing to pipe on football laces. These are always a hit!
Football-Shaped Cheeseball – Make a delicious cheeseball and shape it into a football. Roll it in chopped nuts or shredded cheese and use thinly sliced cheese for the laces. Serve with crackers for an easy appetizer.
