Easter Basket Living Floral Centerpiece. Take an Easter basket, plant flowers in a bowl and cover with a dollar store coir liner for a beautiful spring living centerpiece.
Easter Basket Living Floral Centerpiece
I love a pretty centerpiece, especially for Easter. And although I use and appreciate faux plants and flowers, there’s nothing that compares to the real thing. This year I decided to create a living floral centerpiece that can be used for weeks!

Turn an Easter Basket into a Centerpiece
I had a large Easter basket in our shed, I decided to use it as the outside of the living floral centerpiece I made for Easter.
Use Potted Plants and Flowers to Make a Living Arrangement
I mostly used potted plants for this living arrangement. I like doing this because potted plants live longer and I can enjoy this arrangement for a few weeks instead of a few days.
Add Small Vases of Flowers for Color
I did use some cut tulips that I bought at Trader Joes and put them in small vases within the arrangement. This is a good way of keeping color in the living arrangement if you mostly use green plants inside.
Use a Large Bowl to Contain the Plants
I put a large bowl inside of the basket. Then you can add soil inside the pot and take the plants out of their containers and cover the tops with soil. Or you can put the pots with the plants directly inside of the bowl and fit them together so that you don’t see the pots.
Cover the Outside of the Bowl with Coir Liner
I like the look of an organic lining so I bought two $1 coir liners from the dollar store, cut them in half and tucked them around the bowl to cover it up. I didn’t want to plant the plants directly on top of the coir liner because water would leak out and get on my table or countertop. This way it looks like they are planted inside of the liner but really they are inside of the bowl which holds the water inside.
Enjoy Your Easter Basket Living Flower Arrangement
I love the arrangement so much! I can’t decide if I want to keep it on my dining room table, my kitchen counter or on my coffee table. Where would you keep this arrangement?
