Spring Anthropologie-Inspired Painted Houses. Get your home ready for Spring by painting these cute white houses. You can add them to a shelf or mantel for your home!
Spring Painted Houses
I have some sweet little ceramic houses; I use them throughout my home. They were a main focal point on our mantel over the holidays — Colorful and Bright Holiday Mantel. I thought it would be fun to update them for Spring. I saw some really adorable ceramic house planters on Anthropologie’s site and I thought they were so similar to my little houses that it would be fun to try to recreate them for my Springtime decor!!

Where to Buy Ceramic House Planters
You can buy ceramic house planters at Hobby Lobby for about $7 right now if you want to make one of these planters for YOUR home! They are 40% off right now, but you can always use your 40% off coupon – I always use mine. Consumer Crafts also has a ceramic house that is $5.
Supplies to Make Spring Anthropologie-Inspired Painted Houses
I tried a few different types of paint to paint these houses. I used watercolor paint and it flaked off. So I recommend acrylic craft paint. You can find it at any craft store. Then you just need a couple small paint brushes.
Don’t be Afraid to Try Painting
These flowers look complex but they are really easy to make. The trick is layering the paint. The flowers are just dabs of paint. Then once they were dry I added some dots and leaves with my smaller brush. You can experiment on a piece of paper first until you get a hang of what you want your flowers to look like. I just recreated the shape of the flowers on the Anthropologie pots.
Paint the Sides
I brought the flowers over onto the sides of the houses. Some of the houses I painted little dots on the sides like the ones in the Anthropologie photo.
Paint Larger Flowers
I painted a couple houses with larger flowers and I like the contrast between the houses with the smaller flowers and the houses with the big ones!
Group the Painted Houses Together
I painted a few houses and grouped them on my shelves in my Farmhouse Kitchen Nook. But I also added them to my mantel. I think they look so sweet with my flower paintings.
Spring Floral Mantel
I added the houses to my mantel with my spring flower frames. I added some live plants on the ends and some banners. I will post all about the mantel in a post soon!
