How to make mini kitchen cupboard wreaths for under a dollar. Make mini wreaths out of tiny rolls of garland and hang them on your kitchen cupboards or on the back of chairs for the holidays.
How to Make Kitchen Cupboard Mini Wreaths
I’ve always wanted to hang little wreaths on my kitchen cupboards. My problem has always been that I could never find the right size wreath. I wanted something very simple that won’t overwhelm my kitchen. I was browsing hobby lobby the other day and I saw tiny garlands all wrapped up and they look just like the mini wreaths I had been envisioning. I thought it would be a great idea to make the garland into wreaths so I did.
Wrap the garland around a form
I tried to make the wreaths using just my hands. They turned out quite uneven. I discovered that if I wrapped the garland around something with the circumference of the wreaths I was trying to make that it turned out much better. I used a kitchen canister.
Wrap the garland around 4 times
I wrapped the garland around the canister and tied it. Then I continued wrapping the garland around the canister 4 times. Then I cut the garland and wrapped the end around the wreath.
Cut 3 2-inch lengths of garland
Wrap the 2-inch garland strips around the wreath at quarter intervals
This secures the shape of the wreath and makes it look uniform.
Measure your ribbon on the kitchen cabinet
Decide where you want your wreath to hang on the cabinet. Measure from the top of the cabinet, past where your wreath will hang and add 8-10 inches for the bow. Take that total and add 2 inches because the ribbon will hang on the inside of the cabinet.
Tape the ribbon to the inside of the cabinet
face the loop down with the tape going inside of the loop, attaching to the cabinet. The ribbon will loop over the top of the cabinet and hang down over the front of the cabinet.
Tie a bow securing the wreath
Bring the back ribbon through the center of the wreath and position the wreath where you want the wreath to be on the cabinet front. Then bring the other end up and tie it in a bow.
You can hang hang mini wreaths on windows
I also hung the little wreaths on my windows. Instead of taping the ribbon to the blinds, I looped the ribbon to the top bling and hung the ribbon down the center of the window. Then I tied the ribbon onto the wreath in the same way that I did with the cabinet wreath.
You can hang mini wreaths on doors
I hung mini wreaths on my barn doors too. I used small command hooks on the doors and then looped the ribbon on the command hooks.
You can hang mini wreaths on the backs of chairs
You can make these mini wreaths and hang them on the back of chairs for a festive dinner party decorating idea. Just look the ribbon to the top of the chair. If the chair doesn’t have a open top, you can pin the ribbon onto the upholstery or if it is a wooden chair, you can tape it onto the front side of the chair and have the ribbon loop over the top of the chair and hang down the back.
