This post is brought to you by Krylon.
I love Krylon’s Mystery Box challenges. Krylon sends out a box of inexpensive items and asks bloggers to make something unique!!
This month’s challenge was a … challenge!
Here is the box of items that I received. I also asked for project ideas on my Instagram feed!
I knew I wanted to make something festive and patriotic!
This is how I made our Patriotic Centerpiece! (And read on for the FREE printables – in three sizes!!)
I spray painted the shelf with the Krylon white and let it sit overnight.
Then I took the shelf and added painter’s tape, creating stripes.
Then I spray painted the whole shelf with the red Krylon paint.
Once the paint was dry, I had a red shelf with white stripes.
I also took the mason jars and spray painted them with the Krylon blue metallic color. And I have to say – I love this shimmery spray paint!
When the blue shimmer metallic paint was dry, I hot glued small stars to the mason jars.
I spray painted the stars white.
I then made a little printable that goes with the project. It has ombre letters which I think is pretty!
I printed of the printable and then put it in the 5×7 frame and suspended it above the shelf with some rods that I had already painted red.
I think it’s kind of a fun little project!
And here are the printables!
I’ve made them in 3 sizes for you – 8×10, 5×7 and 4×6. Just print on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper and trim to fit! As always, these are for personal use only.
Here’s the 8×10-inch size: right-click this link or the image below to download the PDF.

Did you buy or make the rosettes? I am thinking of making these for my Canada Day celebration Space in my home. If you made them how big is the paper strip to make them?
