Hello, Tatertots and Jello Readers! It’s Laurie from Gallamore West here, and Easter is hopping up so quickly so today I’m sharing a super simple, delicious crowd pleasing Easter treat- Chocolate Krispy Bunnies.
Everything here at Gallamore West is about bunnies, bunnies, and more bunnies right now because after my husband and boys spent a few weekends building a rabbit hutch in our backyard, we brought home four adorable bunnies over this past weekend. And since it just happens to be Easter time, we’re having friends over for a Bunny Party so they can meet our new bunnies! We’re keeping the color scheme all natural, and serving “bunny food” like these simple Chocolate Krispy Bunnies.
These Chocolate Krispy Bunnies are a breeze to make, using only three ingredients.
Chocolate Krispy Bunnies
6 cups chocolate krispy cereal
4 cups mini marshmallows
5 tablespoons butter
Line a large cookie sheet with generously greased foil and set aside. In a large pot over medium low heat, melt butter and marshmallows until completely melted. Stir continuously while melting. Remove from heat and pour in 6 cups of chocolate krispy cereal (I always have my cereal pre-measured so that I can do this step really quickly). Using a rubber spatula so you can scrape down the sides as you go, stir quickly to thoroughly combine and coat all of the cereal with the marshmallow mixture. Pour contents onto greased cookie sheet and using greased hands or the back of the rubber spatula, press down the mixture until evenly spread. Allow it to cool for at least 20 minutes before transferring to a cookie sheet to cut. For really smooth looking final results, place your cutting board on top of cooled Chocolate Krispy mix and flip it over, then pull off the foil and discard.
Then just use a bunny cookie cutter to cut out your cute little bunnies. I added a brown tail because I’m going for a natural, neutral bunny party color scheme. But of course a bright colored tail or a pastel candy would be adorable too.
I know these are super simple, but they’re always a big hit with the kids. And how can I not host a Bunny Party with this cute little face around here at Gallamore West now?
Have a great week and be sure to hop over to Gallamore West next week for ALL of the fun details of our Bunny Party! xoxo
