I love bright colors in the Summer.

So I thought it might be fun to try spray painting some kind of blah black shoes to give them a summertime update!

I shuffled through my paint bin and found some Valspar Pink Burst spray paint. Perfect!!

(I taped off the inside of the shoes with painter’s tape to keep the original insides clean)

I gave the shoes a thorough coat and let them dry. But I thought they needed something else to make them pop. So I looked through the Styled By Tori collection and found two modern, sparkly pendants from the Glitz collection. Perfect!!

Once the shoes were dried, I cut off the top attachment on the pendants to make them perfectly round and then attached them to the shoes with adhesive. Let the adhesive dry overnight before wearing.

What an easy and fun project! And I love how bright and summery my new shoes are!! I can’t wait to wear them.

(note — 10 minutes is the total project time it took to updates these shoes. Drying times are not included in the 10 minutes)

You can find the {Styled By Tori} jewelry line at your local craft store.

Michael’s Crafts carries some of the line and JoAnn Crafts carries the full line. For lots of style inspiration, news and information on the new line –  follow along with Styled by Tori Spelling on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest!!

Have you ever made over a pair of YOUR shoes?

Leave a link to your project in the comments.

We would love to see it!!

xoxo

Disclosure: I am thrilled to be a brand ambassador with {styled} by Tori Spelling. I love the line and concept. All opinions are 100% mine. See more disclosure information here.

This is a nice tutorial, you gave an idea on how to refashion some of my flat shoes. I do have a tutorial on how I refashioned an old wedge using an elastic band that you might want to try too. 🙂

I did a shoe makeover. I bought them at Target for $5, but I could only comfortably style them with one shirt. Here’s my refashion: http://honestysprotegee.wordpress.com/2012/07/21/diy-deva-shoe-redux/

I made over a pair of shoes: http://thecraftpatch.blogspot.com/2010/11/shoe-makeover.html

I tried painting a pair, but I haven’t posted about them yet because some of the newspaper I used to cover over the wedge heals stuck on and I haven’t figured a way to get it off yet.

I did this YEARS ago when I was in high school – couldn’t afford silver shoes to go with my dress so I spray painted them and you couldn’t even tell – but way back then I was too embarrassed to tell anyone I even did it!! LOL

Those are so adorable! I love how bright they are 🙂 I did my own shoe makeover a while ago, but it was with Mod Podge and fabric instead of spray paint. They turned out pretty awesome and I love wearing them around!
