Fall Project — Make Painted Address Pumpkins {tutorial}

Here’s a little project I made the other day. I had picked up these cool Nickel Address Numbers awhile ago, intending to make a new address sign for the front of my house. But when I saw a good deal on pumpkins, I thought it would be fun to make a little Family Address pumpkin vignette for my front porch.

{and when I’m done I can take them off and make another project with the numbers}

Here’s what I did:

  • The first thing that I did was spray paint the pumpkins. I originally started spraying them all different colors, but once I started putting them together I decided that it looked a little too crazy. So I went back and sprayed them all the same color. But if you like a more natural look, you can leave the pumpkins a natural color, or spray paint them white.

  • Once dry, I got out my stash of ribbon and went to town. I found a couple coordinating ribbons for each pumpkin, then measure the width of each pumpkin, cut the ribbon and glued the ends together. I tied a couple other ribbons to the stalk of the pumpkins too.
  • Then I stuck the house numbers inside the pumpkins {centered in the middle of the ribbon}.

That’s it!!

Now I have some cute blue and orange pumpkins that display my house numbers. And, if you like a more natural look, skip the spray painting step. Keep your pumpkins natural. OR, you can also spray paint your pumpkins a more natural color like green or white.

Either way, you have a eye-catching addition to your Fall decor.

And I plan on keeping mine on display through Thanksgiving 🙂

xoxo

    What an adorable idea!! This is such and easy and cute craft and is perfect for a doorway or front porch. I have seen painted pumpkins before, but I have never thought of incorporating spray paint and ribbon- two of my favorite things- into decorating a pumpkin. Love it! You also picked such cute colors!!

    Do you not have wind? Your front door/porch is always beautiful. After a day full of 60 MPH wind here in Nebraska I sometimes wonder, are we the only ones with wind??? 🙂 Your post is lovely as always! ~tiffany
