Happy Holidays Tatertots and Jello readers! My name is Tauni. I have a creative lifestyle blog called TauniEverett.com where I share ideas for women who live a creative lifestyle – including loads of blogging and business tips. I also run a conference for craft, DIY and home entertaining bloggers, called Snap.
Balancing life and running a business keeps me on my toes, but I am blessed to be able to create and call it “work.”
I am excited to be visiting Jen’s site today to share the modern holiday wreath I put together this year.
My style is a clean take on traditional. I like simple. So when Jen shared some modern wreath inspiration with me, I totally stole her idea ran with it. The hallmark of a modern-style wreath is a simple wreath form and more monochromatic color scheme.
For this wreath, I used a large embroidery hoop I had in my stash. I have to be honest, I don’t even know when I purchased this item. I am pretty sure it was after I’d spent some time on my friend Bev’s site, thinking I might possibly be able to make something as amazing as she usually does.
Since I was going for simple, I really wanted to use things I already had on hand. I gathered together some moss that I had left over from some potting I’d been doing, a few random sprigs of greenery and white and some ribbon in the same color scheme.
I did PURCHASE a cute little squirrel ornament while at World Market the other day. Because who doesn’t love a sweet little woodland creature?
Once I had all of the items, I simply started to add things here and there. I have to admit to walking over to my mantel and snipping off a few extra green bits to add some dimension. Then digging through some ornaments (for another project) and nabbing a few for my squirrel.
I used my FAVORITE glue gun to piece it all together and make sure everything was firm, before adding the ribbon and hanging it on my door.
I love how it turned out. Just enough holiday that it adds a bit of cheer to an otherwise boring door without taking away from the rest of my decor.
Thanks for having me over Jen! It’s fun to visit your site.

Thanks Tauni! I just love that wreath! I’m really loving natural, neutral colors this year too! Tauni has so many great ideas. Here are a few I know you’ll love:
She has this modern holiday play list filled with traditional favorites don’t in a new way.
She also has this Easy-to-make Soft Gingerbread that has been pinned more than half a million times! So yummy.
And I can’t wait to try her Peppermint Hot Chocolate Mix. It would make a great gift in a jar too!
