Today I would love to share a little Summertime project with you –
Our Family Summer Bucket List!!

A few months ago I spied this $1 vintage lunchbox at my local thrift store.
It was beat up, but had so much character.
I didn’t know what I would do with it, but I knew I needed to buy it.

Fast forward a couple of months, my kids are on the verge of Summer Vacation.
I am so excited to have them home and do some fun things.
I am so excited to have them home and do some fun things.
Last Summer it seemed like there were Summer lists all over the place. I loved that idea and thought it would be fun to do something like that and incorporate my sweet lunchbox.

My husband helped me make up a cute printable for this project. I made a little sign for the front of the lunchbox. And then a smaller version for the summer activities.
Our family came up with about 50 ideas that would be fun to do in the Summer.
I love all of the bright colors!!

![use year after year_thumb[1]](https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/use-year-after-year_thumb1.jpg)
I also made up a blank sheet that you can print off and write or type your own ideas. I took all of the sheets down to my local Kinkos and laminated them. That way we can use them over again every year. And, I laminated the blank sheet and we can use it with white board markers each year too. It just wipes off when we are done with that activity.
![summer bucket list treats_thumb[1]](https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/summer-bucket-list-treats_thumb1.jpg)
I spray painted the lunch box a happy color. And then I took an Ikea glass bottle and filled it up with colorful candies and put another of the main labels on it. That way my kids can take turns picking an activity. And when it is their turn they get a little treat too.

Another idea you could do with the printables is attach them to a magnet board and take the ones down after you are done with them. And, if you don’t have a lunchbox, you can use a plastic bin or even a shoe box to keep your summertime ideas.

We are really excited for Summer to start so we can start doing the things on our Summer Bucket List.

Thank you for including your list – I love to see other people’s ideas to snitch and to add our own to.
Cool!
I love, love, LOVE this idea. Maybe I can use it to even get my teenagers to have some fun with me!!

Come say hi and thanks again for sharing!
Thanks so much! A month of our summer is GONE and while I love watching iCarly with my girls, I doubt they will think back to this summer with fond memories of Nickelodeon…
I am so excited to bust this out on Family Home Evening!
Thanks again!
i swear that was my dad's lunchbox circa 1983~love it! {I actually collect 80s lunchboxes and lunchboxes in general…they make for such fun storage}.
Reusable tags for a bucket list is a great idea. I only did 20 things for our summer…my boys are still young {3 and 1}, and I can't wait to do things like lemonade stands and slip and slides…
🙂
featured this today on my blog

What a creative idea! I did something similar non-techy due to limited resources back in 80-90's for my girls! Loved spending time with my girls doing random summer bucket list items! Enjoy your summer!:)http://feeds.feedburner.com/SteppingBackInTimeWithMyCherishedCookbooks
Just wanted to stop by and say a HUGE thank you for the bucket list idea! We have been doing it since June 1 and it's been the BIGGEST hit with my 3 year old. She wakes up everyday asking what we're doing off our bucket list, it's such a happy, positive thing and I appreciate the share!

What a great idea!! Today I am working and recovering from a funfilled trip to Chicago for a soccer tournament. 🙂 Have a great week!!
What a great idea! I am going to make this for my youngest son.
I'm working on our summer fun jar today, this is a great twist! I am so bummed I didn't get to meet you last week when I was in Utah. I heard you were sick…I hope you are all better!
Great and fun idea! I did a list last summer and it was fun. I haven't thought about it for this summer yet. They are getting big and doing so many things on their own. I hope we'll have some family time to enjoy.
I LOVE this! Really making the most of the family time summer makes available. Just think, when fall comes again you will have a tangible list of things you accomplished with your summer! And memories to boot:)
Maybe you could start a summer bucket list album to go with it – if you use the printable cards you could have pictures to go with each activity. Just a thought!
Jen this is such an adorable idea! It looks like you are going to have a fun summer:)
What a great idea Jen! I love that in incorporates the whole fam! 🙂
What a fantastic idea! Seems everyone is coming up with fun ways to celebrate summer…I should start my planning, eh? Cheers!

Jen, this is such an awesome idea! I pinned it to my pinterest 🙂 My kids are all grown but if I have grandkids I will adapt your idea to fit. Thanks so much!
I did one of these last year too and I really did to do it again! I LOVE the reusable tags…so smart. And I love that you can get the kids involved too.
what a great idea,, love this,,
I was just sitting here thinking about summer schedules and things to do with my kids when I saw your post in my reader. Great idea!
What I also like is that when summer ends, you'll know that your kids got to do the things they really wanted to do.
Blessings,
Jenni
What a great idea, Jen! I love this! Very colorful, too. I almost wish my kids were younger again. Almost. ; ) Have a wonderful Summer with them!

Cute, cute!
I actually need to continue working on my slipcovers for my sectional. I am having a Scentsy party on Friday and I still have a ton of couch to slipcover. I think I have about 1/4 done.
