Nothing better than make-ahead meals during the holidays! When Bisquick invited me to participate in their Make-Ahead Holiday, my awesome neighbor and I talked and she offered to share with you this yummy family favorite breakfast casserole. Simple, delicious.

You’re going to love this — and so is your family. The best part is that you can make it ahead of time, even freeze it — so you can concentrate on another busy day during the holidays. It’s also a great breakfast when you’re feeding a horde of houseguests!

Aunt Ila's Family Favorite Breakfast Casserole: Easy Make-Ahead Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 cups of shredded cheese
  • 3 cups of cubed ham
  • 6 Eggs
  • ½ cup butter 1 stick - cut into small pieces
  • 3 cups milk
  • ½ teaspoon seasoning salt I like Johnny’s Seasoning Salt
  • 1 cup Bisquick

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Grease a large casserole pan.
  3. Layer the shredded cheese and cubed ham along the bottom of the pan.
  4. (Tip: You can also add chopped bell peppers, artichoke hearts, mushrooms or spinach to the bottom layer.)
  5. Combine the remaining ingredients and pour over the ham and cheese (and anything else you've put on the bottom).
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-55 minutes.
  7. (I like to sprinkle real bacon bits and cheddar cheese over the top for the last 10 minutes.)
  8. You may also want to serve it with salsa and sour cream.
  9. You can make this the night ahead -- either baking in advance or the morning of!
