I have a really great feeling about 2016. And one of my favorite traditions over the past few years has been choosing a word of the year. This year I chose BRIGHT. It sums up what I hope 2016 will be for me. So I created a printable with my word of the year and decorated my mantel at the 1905 Cottage for the upcoming year! I printed the Be Bright printable in a large size with my Canon PIXMA iP8720 Crafting Printer. I love being able to print large sizes for my home!
I think the black and white colors are fresh and clean to welcome a new year. I’ve found that having a Word of the Year gives me purpose for the year and is more effective for me than resolutions. It’s really fun to think about goals I would like to achieve for the year and what work would enable those goals to be met.
And I have a bit of a buffalo check obsession right now. So I thought it would be fun to put my word on the buffalo plaid check background. I also created two coordinating words that kind of support my main word too. TRUE and YOU. And I’ve included those free printables below as well.

On my all my New Year’s cards I wrote “get out your sun shades because I’m wishing you a BRIGHT 2016”. So this blog really caught my attention. Your image looks so dark and crystal clear that I can’t believe it.came off your computer. Any easy way to explain how you did this?
