Make a Flirty Summer Button Necklace!! {tutorial}

I am so excited for Summer!
Hopefully the warm weather will come to Utah sometime soon.
{It has been snowing here this week.}
In the meantime, I made a few Summer necklaces.
Here’s the first:

Flirty Button Necklace
I love the white and turquoise color scheme.
It seems so beachy to me!!
If you want to make one here’s what I did:

Supplies:
Cotton Fabric (I used a Dollar Store Flour Sack}
A couple other fabric scraps
Felt
Buttons
Covered Button Kit
Hot Glue Gun
Ribbon
Scrapbook Brads
Here’s what I did:
  • I cut out a felt bib form — about 5 inches wide by 3 inches high.

  • Then I made a couple fabric flowers. Nancy from My Blonde Ambitions has a great tutorial on how to make these.
  • Once I made the fabric flowers. I laid the flowers, buttons and brads on the felt template until I liked the way it looked. Then I glued the flowers, buttons and brads on the felt.
  • The last thing I did was glue two pieces of ribbon onto the back of the felt half circle.
Super easy!
And I love the flirty look of the necklace.
Perfect for Summer

And, if you want more great necklace ideas, head over to Ucreate for more fantastic button necklaces and Becca from Blue Cricket Designs just made a really cute Button Necklace too.

    My Mom was here and I was looking at your post when she walked in. She said, "where can we buy those? Let's go get some right now!" I had to be like, "I know where this one IS but it's not really a store". So funny. And then I had to be like, Tatertot Jen. And then she got it. We still both love it though. And it might could go on a date with my turquoise ric rac from today. Oh, and I'm thinking of painting some giant shelves turquoise. Like the bright variety. Hmmm….
