I adore the use of color in the "Good Luck Charlie" house!! Like their turquoise couch! So fun. I developed a bit of a crush on the rug from that set. … [Read more...]

stenciled-curtains-from-the-right

I'm still working on my kitchen redo. I decided I wanted to change things up and make a Roman Curtain for the window above my kitchen sink. And in the spirit of keeping it real, I just want to let you know that the first version was a total sewing fail. And she asked me to come up with my own project based on this layout: There were many elements of … [Read more...]

Painting my door and stenciling a rug for my front porch!!

front+porch+closeup[1]

I painted my front door! It used to be this brown color. This picture is a couple years old and you can see even then there were some nicks in the paint. Suffice to say -- it needed a new paint job pretty badly!! I decided to go with black because it's classic. But my porch needed something to go with the new paint job. I have loved Cutting Edge Stencil's Houndstooth Stencil from the first … [Read more...]

Hi! I'm Rachel from first home makeover I couldn't wait to share this mini-makeover with you.  After the stencil project I did on our back door, found here, I knew that I'd be temporarily obsessing over stencils.  I immediately started thinking about what else I could stencil away.  And that's when I began wandering around the house, staring at random items and furniture, trying to … [Read more...]
