This year I made Peppermint Chocolate Crinkle Cookies! They looked so festive!

Here’s the recipe:

Christmas Peppermint Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

Christmas Peppermint Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 bag Hershey's Candy Cane Kisses, unwrapped
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup confectioners sugar
  • 1/4 cup crushed candy canes
  • 2 teaspoons peppermint extract

Instructions

  1. *Combine oil, sugar and cocoa in a mixing bowl.
  2. *Mix that mixture together, and add eggs one at a time while you mix.
  3. *Add the peppermint extract after the eggs and continue stirring.
  4. *In a separate bowl, mix the flour, salt and baking powder, then mix into the other bowl.
  5. *As a final step, I mixed this thoroughly on low with my Kitchen-Aid mixer.
  6. *Place the dough in he freezer or fridge until the dough is still pliable but not as sticky.
  7. *Then, preheat the over to 350-degrees.
  8. *While it's heating, take a tablespoon and scoop a small amount of the dough ball in the powdered sugar and then, as an extra touch, dab the ball in the crushed peppermints and place that side down on the greased cookie sheet.
  9. *Place the dough balls a couple of inches away from their neighbors.
  10. *Bake each tray for 10-12 minutes.
  11. *Then take them out of the oven and let them cool for about 2 minutes and then gently press an unwrapped candy cane Hershey's Kiss into the center of each cookie.
  12. ***If you press the kisses into the hot cookies too early they will melt.
  13. ****Enjoy

  1. Some sellers are dropping prices on those items to sell out quickly.
It was a box office success and put the film as one

  11. They look great but are you one of those people that “accidentally” leave out a key ingredient or is it I just can’t read? Where or where is the peppermint extract listed in ingredients?

    • I an guessing the peppermint comes from the crushed up candy canes?!

      • Then I don’t think the recipe would have you add the peppermint extract at step 3 and the crushed candy canes at step 8….

        • Yes, I had two versions of the recipe going and omitted it accidentally from the ingredients. So I fixed it a couple of hours ago! If you don’t like that much peppermint, by all means, leave it out or substitute vanilla extract.

          • THANK YOU! I have a recipe but I always figure its better to go with a PERSON’S recipe versus a cookbook…now I have a good recipe to follow – my niece will love you forever for this!

  12. one of these years I’m going to fly straight from Hong KOng to come to this super fun event :o) Looks like you all had a blast! Emily
